Looks great
This is a lovely unit from a matching set. Very sturdy and heavy. Shame there isn’t the same slight wave pattern on the edge if the doors like the other Zander items but lovely nonetheless.

Design over functionality
Not quite as sturdy as would have liked - soft close doors bit hit or miss- looks nice - gap between doors so will let dust in

Great unit. Difficult to build
I bought this a few weeks ago and I am happy with how it looks now it’s built. However, it is incredibly difficult to build this unit. I know units of this size is best built with 2 people but I understand other people’s reviews saying it took them 4 people to put the back in place and 3 people to put the doors on. I built it all on my own except for adding the doors and took me the longest time to position it perfectly to slide the back in place and had to use some of my thin books across the fold in the middle to keep it in place while I attached the base of the unit. When my partner helped me attach the doors, the instructions said to attach part 1 of the hinge to the frame and part 2 of the hinge to the doors and attach that way which was too difficult so we took part 1 off the frame of the unit and attached it to part 2 of the door before attaching the door to the unit. It was a massive faff to build the unit which is why I knocked it down a few stars. I was going to get another one for my kitchen to display my glasses but with how difficult it was to build I won’t be getting another one. Glad I got it in the sale as I wouldn’t pay full price for it. I would say it’s a good quality item however the way it’s built is difficult. Would have been easier if the back was to be attached with nails hammered in like the book case I ordered from Argos instead of it sliding into grooves and falling out because of the fold in the middle of the backing sheet. It is a sturdy item now it is built but I still worry it’ll fall apart with how difficult it was to actually keep the pieces in place when adding the next item. Wouldn’t have made a difference if it was built with multiple people as back can’t be held in place if there was nowhere to hold it in place

Great furniture
Love these display cabinets and tv unit. The only negative, is that the backing on the cabinets doesn’t fit that good and easily dislodges. They look great though, very happy with them and the quality is very good.

Difficult assembly even for good DIYers
Very difficult to assemble - I am good at building flat pack but this was the most difficult item I’ve ever had to put together. The back required 3-4 people to get in place and securing it is difficult. The doors have to be attached after the hinges are attached to the frame or it’s almost impossible to assemble them.

Nice unit
Have looked at this for months and finally made the decision to buy. Easy to assemble with two people. Doors took a while to go on but worked out ok. Only downside was one of the plastic feet broke so doesn’t stand straight on the floor and so far not had a replacement.

Overpriced and poor quality
I was really disappointed in this product, but I was too far into building it before I truly appreciated how poor quality it was. This took 7 hours to build by myself. The instructions are poorly put together, there’s far too many variants of screws (about a 3rd of which I didn’t actually end up using as they weren’t needed), and the laminated pieces are poorly finished. For some reason, they decided to put large stickers on the white panels which has left some terrible marks. If you can get it on sale for £100 or less, then it’s alright. Otherwise you should go straight to ikea and buy from there because the quality is far superior.

Hi James,
Habitat Zander Display Unit - White & Oak Effect
On checking I can see this is 156.8cm without the legs and the legs are 24cm. We would not recommend using this without the legs.
Thanks for using Q and A.
Hello Ethel,
The supplier has advised the following for the Zander Display Unit - White & Oak Effect:
The total weight capacity for the entire unit is about 120kg. The load capacity for each shelf is about 30kgs. This 30kgs is usually best spread over the entire shelf rather than being in just one place.
Thank you for using Q&A.
Hello SJ,
The supplier has advised the following for the Zander Display Unit - White & Oak Effect:
The material of the shelves is made of particle board, laminated with the oak effect surface.
I hope this helps.
Thank you for using Q&A.
Hi Paula
Habitat Zander Display Unit
We do not sell the shelves separately. This will have pre-drilled holes for each shelf that is supplied, and we would not recommend adding further holes to add additional shelving as this would void your guarantee.
Thank you for using Q&A

Hello there,
The supplier has advised the following for the Zander Display Unit - White & Oak Effect:
There are two push to open devices that are fixed onto the underneath of middle shelf.
You only need to press door in this area and pull the door open.
Furthermore, the doorknobs can be added by themselves.
I hope this helps.
Thank you for using Q&A.
