The Argos Home Maine Narrow Bookcase gives you flexible storage for books, ornaments or plants without taking up precious floor space. It's a tall, slim design that slots into narrow gaps and alcoves where wider units won't fit, but the deep shelves still hold plenty. The wood effect finish blends with most room styles, from living rooms to home offices. There's one fixed shelf for stability, plus four adjustable shelves you can position at heights that suit your collection.
The narrow 42cm width makes it ideal for tight spots beside desks, sofas or beds. Wall fixings are included to secure it safely, especially important in homes with children. Simple self-assembly with clear instructions and everything you need to put it together. The sturdy frame stands up to daily use, and comes with a manufacturer's one year guarantee for reassurance.

Excellent shelves, stylish and sturdy
We've had these shelves in a different colour for many years and were so pleased with them that we recently updated to the new grey version. They are sturdy, well made, and look really smart in our home. We get lots of compliments on them from visitors. They were easy to assemble and provide plenty of space for all our books. A great quality product that we would highly recommend.

Worth every penny
I'm a bit of a hoarder so I have a lot of stuff but I live in a shared accommodation and I need somewhere to put everything. These shelves are perfect for getting things off the floor and organised. They're easy to put together with a simple set of tools, also bought from Argos. They're studying enough to have two about a meter apart and a third resting across the top of two which creates even more space. The individual shelves can be adjusted to fit larger or smaller to suit their needs. The finish is nice enough too. I've already bought five of these and have plans to buy more.

Bought the book case and was easy to assemble and the instructions were easy to read and understand as well. After construction looks great and seems to be sturdy and looks great against the sage green new room walks.

Simple and sturdy
Just needed a bookcase to fit a narrow gap. The construction is sturdy as the middle shelf is fixed with long screws in the same way as the top and bottom of the bookcase. The other shelf’s are adjustable. Assembly is easy. Finish is ok.

Great value for money
Really good value for money! Easy to follow instructions; side pieces are quite heavy so it took 2 people to build it, but built in less than an hour :-) really sturdy and looks great in our lounge!

The internal width is 38.9cm and depth is 28.4cm. In terms of height , there is 1 fixed shelf and 4 adjustable shelves, the upper section is 77.6cm and lower section is 91.7cm.
