The Play10 is a compact and portable DAB/ DAB+ and FM radio which benefits from all the usual fantastic DAB features. It is simple to use, when you first switch it on it will automatically tune in all the radio stations available. You can then go through and store your favourites.

I bought this Roberts radio less than a month ago. I bought it to use with batteries only. I find that playing Radio 4 with batteries it keep cutting out. That is what I wanted it to do, it does not fulfil its roll.

Does the job
I’m pleased with my Robert’s radio in general but there’s just a couple of minor things which I think, for me, personally could be better. I only use the radio in bed when I have trouble sleeping, the first time I used it I plugged in my in ear earphones (had to purchase new as I had 4.5 plugs and the Robert’s radio takes 3.5 jackplug.) and the radio was not silenced, my OH could hear it! We discovered that we haven’t to put the earphones in tightly then they work fine. The other little bug for me is as the display is on the top of the radio and it is lit up bright blue it does lighten the bedroom slightly. My OH can tell when I’ve got the radio on. Other than that I’m happy with the radio, it sounds ok, and it’s neat and pleasing to look at. It’s also easy for me to switch it on during the night without having to put the light on, I know where the buttons are and also for my 3 pre saved stations, so it’s easy to use.

Fantastic buy!
I am using it right now as I write and would not be without it. It is light, portable with excellent reception and tuning capability. For the price it is amazing. It has a limited number of presets which I am perfectly happy with as I only really listen to a few channels and probably keeps the price down. Good brand for a great price.

Good DAB+ Radio - shame about the Presets
The radio sounds clear and pleasant to listen to. Its small size means it is easily portable. It is easy to set up and use and can be used with headphones (Standard headphone socket). The station display is large, if coarse with 8 segment LEDs. It comes with a mains adapter and can also use AA batteries. Personally, I prefer this arrangement to using a phone charger to charge internal lithium calls as the USB charger socket is easily damaged. The main drawback is that there are only 3 presets for DAB+ and 3 for FM. This is not really enough and although the radio is not difficult to tune, there are so many DAB stations detected that it becomes fiddly and time consuming to select a new station.

So so, but good price point
Nice little radio but fiddly to set up from scratch. I didn't find the written instructions to be intuitive. Battery life is much less than the 20hrs claimed, though, which is disappointing. Also, as the batteries fade, the radio sputters between playing and not playing. It would be better if it just cut out full stop, as we first thought the unit was faulty. The claimed 6 presets are a little misleading. 3 for FM and 3 for DAB. That really is only 3 presets. The sound is good for its size. I'm not bothered about connectivity with other devices/speakers because its function was to be small and portable, which it is.

Excellent portable radio, highly recommend
I'm really pleased with this radio which I bought to replace a cheaper Bush portable radio. It has worked perfectly so far, the sound quality is great, it is easy to use and it looks stylish too. I also really like the presets feature where you can set your favourite stations.

From the information available, the radio can pick up a wide range of channels. However, it may not be able to receive all local and community radio stations, depending on location. If you move to a different part of the country, some of the stations which were listed may no longer be available. Also, from time to time, some DABservices may stop broadcasting, or may change location or frequency.
