Just what we were looking for
After looking at many lamps from other shops, and trying a few, we found that 2 of these were just what we wanted to cast light down on the kitchen sink. That doesn't mean they're suitable for a wet area, but these go on two shelves and we use remote controlled plug adaptors. Good points for us: plain simple design, available in white, adjustable how we want them, separate bulb (not built in LED) so we can choose the sort we want to give directional downlight without harsh spotlight effect.. Seem well made for the price, and good value. No bad points really - the moulded switch and plug meant that I had to get new switch and plugs to fit new longer flex to one and shorten the other, but I think that's the norm these days, and most users would be happy with the standard switch and lead. You'll need to buy bulbs separately, but that means you can choose the brightness and colour temperature that you want - hence given 5 stars for brightness.

Ideal as a bedside light, and doubling as reading light. direction of light good, doesn't disturb sleeping partner! But others might find it a little bright - lower wattage bulb? Colour of lamp suited our bedroom decor.

Great lamp
I bought this lamp for reading in bed. When I saw the small box it was in I thought it wouldn’t be any use. How wrong I was. It’s just the right size & throws out plenty of light. Unbelievable for the price. Would definitely recommend.
