To extend your Argos Home Black Extendable Curtain Pole to its full length, you simply pull the narrower pole section out from the wider section to the desired length. The poles are designed to slide telescopically into one another.
Here are the specific steps:
Remove the finials (if necessary): If the finials (the decorative ends) are already attached and prevent the pole from sliding, you may need to loosen a small grip screw on them using an Allen key (usually supplied in the original package) to remove them temporarily.
Slide the pole sections: The pole is made of sections that slide into each other. Gently pull the inner (narrower) pole section(s) outwards from the outer (wider) section(s) to extend the pole to the desired length.
Position on brackets: Once extended, place the pole onto the brackets you have already secured to the wall.
Secure the length: The brackets typically have small grub screws (grip screws) on the back or underside that you tighten with a screwdriver or Allen key. Tightening these screws will secure the pole in place at the length you have set and stop it from shortening or lengthening by mistake.
Reattach finials: If you removed the finials in step 1, slide them back onto the ends of the pole and secure them with their respective grip screws.
