Awesome Ultra 2. bargain price
Bought a recon Ultra (original) two wks prior to this purchase but rtns immediately I saw this for £599. Battery life unbelievably good! Previously had an SE - wouldnt last half a day w minimal use - this lasts me 2 days with constant use - fitness tracking (swimming) and activity daily. Absolute bargain. Superb kit. Assuming is still available @ £599 and you’re in the market buy the Ultra 2 instantly - IT IS AWESOME

It grows on you
This replaced a Series 3 Apple Watch and it looks and feels bigger by much more than the difference between 42 and 49mm. To the point that some of the faces I used on the old watch looked silly stretched to the Ultra 2's massive screen. I was uncertain of the watch at first, but on realising it is not just a super-sized Series watch but a different product and wants to be configured differently, it all makes sense and I really like it. The extra size allows all sorts of things that just wouldn't be possible on a smaller device. The Alpine Loop is surprisingly comfortable, but the plastic hook connector is unnecessarily fiddly. Even the concept of a permanent loop that you have to squeeze over your hand as opposed to a strap that fastens is questionable to me. But other straps are available and swapping them is quick and easy. I purchased this before the release of the Ultra 3, but had a good idea of what was likely to be announced. Writing this after the announcement, I am pleased with my decision to buy this version at the discount Argos were offering at the time. Would recommend, but not if you have small wrists!
