I purchased this kettle a week ago to replace the same make and design we originally had. This matched our toaster so wanted to replace like for like. This looks great and love the cream colour. Good capacity and boils quickly.

Good kettle, but keep an eye on the steam vent.
Bought as a replacement for the exact same model, bought well over 3 years ago. Important Note: at the top of the handle is a steam vent (a little hole under the top rim) which is key to the kettle switching-off when boiling. We were unaware of this, so our regular de-limescaling never addressed this little hole, which means the old kettle only switched off after ages of boiling - hence this replacement. In future, we will apply some limescale remover to this hole! Otherwise, the kettle does fine!!!

Breville VKT223 kettle has a wide spout for easy pouring, but it does not include a specific anti-splash or anti-drip device to prevent boiling water from spitting. For safe use, we recommend pouring slowly and avoiding overfilling.

It states it in both the wording and on the pictures.

To descale Breville VKT223 kettle, we recommend using a proprietary kettle descaler (readily available in supermarkets or online) or a solution of white vinegar and water. Descaling should be carried out every 4–8 weeks, depending on the hardness of your local water supply (more often in hard water areas).
Hi JVS. I can confirm that the element is stainless steel and the body of the kettle (both exterior and interior) is plastic. I do hope this helps.

The power cords for Breville kettles are consistent in design and are only available in black. Unfortunately, the white kettles do not come with white power cords, without exception.
