This 8amp Smart Charger and Maintainer is suitable for 12V and 24V vehicles and is compatible with lead acid, gel, calcium, EFB, AGM and START/STOP batteries, and can be left permanently connected without overcharging. The 7 stage charge cycle adapts to the battery performance for optimum charging. Once a battery is charged it goes into float mode to keep the battery in good condition. One button operation and large LCD backlit display means it couldn't be simpler to use.

The Argos click & collect service is exceptionally good. The Smart Battery Charger was competitively priced and cheaper than other well known suppliers. The supplier has advised the following for the Ring 8A Smart Charger and Battery Maintainer:
"The Ring 8A Smart Charger and Battery Maintainer would not be suitable to start a battery from flat as they are designed to keep the car battery topped up and conditioned. To start a battery you would require a jump starter, such as our 6000mAh Jump Starter, which is portable and when charged up doesn’t need to be plugged into the mains to jump a battery."

“ All smart chargers are designed to need a minimum battery voltage before they will charge it.
In the case of the RSC800 series, it needs to see above 3 Volt in order to regard the battery as being in a chargeable state. ”

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Ring 8A Smart Charger and Battery Maintainer: ''This Smart Charger range (RSC804, RSC806, RSC808) are for all types of lead acid battery but not for any type of Lithium battery, so would not be suitable for a LiFePO4 battery.''
