Great phone amazing value
The phone is great, very bright screen good for outdoor use, battery life really good days use still has 65% battery. Only downside is there is no factory fitted screen protector and they are impossible to find due to the curved screen edges. Not to bothered but you maybe if you tend to drop your phone or throw it in a bag. Amazing you can get a decent phone for this price in 2025 it is hard to justify a £1000 phone when phones like this exist. Hoghly recomend.

Capable and well specced 5G phone
Brought as an upgrade from the Motorola E14 and this is much improved - apps work as they should do, 5G signal available, battery life is very good (can do a couple of days easily between charges) and comes with a basic clear case in the box, but still fairly reasonable cost for the handset.

Its ok, a few too many annoying features
I’ve been using the Motorola G85 for a few weeks now, and unfortunately, it’s fallen short in several key areas. First off, the phone makes an extremely annoying screen flash and sound every 30 seconds while charging. It's distracting, especially at night, and I haven’t found a straightforward way to turn it off. It feels like a basic oversight that ruins an otherwise smooth charging experience. Battery life is also underwhelming. Even with light to moderate use, it drains faster than expected — definitely not ideal for anyone who needs their phone to last all day. Another gripe is how heavily dependent the phone is on Google for everything. Even core apps like Photos and Messages are Google-based with no real alternatives pre-installed. If you're looking for a bit of independence from the Google ecosystem, this phone isn't it. Lastly, toggling your location on and off is unnecessarily complicated. You have to dig into the settings each time, instead of having a quick-access shortcut like other Android devices. Overall, while the G85 has decent performance and a nice screen, these daily-use frustrations make it hard to recommend. Motorola really needs to polish the user experience if they want to stay competitive.
