Chromebooks keep getting better
The new Chromebook Plus series (of which this is one) are much more capable than they used to be. I can do all the things I did on my old Chromebook, and I can play games as well. It runs the new Steam for Chromebook beta, so a lot of the games I had on my Windows desktop will run, and modern graphics-heavy games can be played via a streaming games service like NVidia NOW. Unless you need really heavy duty Windows software, this will do most people for most things.

should i buy a chromebook 515 plus
Id have put one star but ive written this in the hope that itll make you think, if this machine is really for you! I bought this in december 2023 I wanted a laptop with a dvd rewriter aparently they no longer make them.. What to buy. I looked and couldnt really make my mind up, not knowing much about them. I was looking for a laptop that I could plug a DVD rewriter in so when I read up on this it seemed ok , With USB A and C types to "play all your Peripherals" a DVD Rewriter is a Peripheral, thats fine then, i'll go for the Google its the same as my phone. Well its ok for google, facebook, youtube. Having bought it, I searched on the net for a DVD rewriter, hours of looking and the blurb saying works on chrombooks.only to read on and find... No they dont ! As far as I can see No DVD rewriter will play on any chrombebook as chromebooks dont have the thing that makes them work, a DVD player might work but its no guarrantee . it may not play your favourite movie unless you happen to have it as a data disc already, I have a music USB for my car (MP3s) I thought id edit it ... The chromebook doesnt even recognise it. I have five USB sticks, only two will even show up. So the others with my stuff on I thought, alright ill format them thats what it suggested. OOps Chromebook cannot find the files you want to format. Was what I got in answer. So I couldnt even find the files to format. I admit im not a computer nerd, but over the years I learned a little bit. after days of trying and getting nothing but a headache. As guidelines says avoid mentioning Customer Services, I Wont! So now Im stuck with a not inexpensive machine thats not even as good as my smartphone which im told you can plug a DvD machine with an OTG cable possibly even a rewriter I can plug my USBs in through an OTG lead. which is more than this machine can do. So if you want to do anything like that mentioned dont get a Chromebook plus 515 save your money get a proper laptop one you can plug DVD rewriters and your USBs will likely work. if you simply want Facebook etc Youtube and hopefuly do stuff on the internet then Yeah its probably be ok for you, I wish id never bought the *expletive* thing. with no other choice I have now bought a refurbed laptop off one of those online sales shops so i can do all the stuff i cant do on this machine. there will be a few 5 stars, because thats what its good at so hopefully you will agree im trying my best to be fair. its difficult but im trying.
