The IKT253 model features a brushed stainless steel exterior, which does become hot to the touch when the kettle has boiled water inside. This is normal for stainless steel kettles without a cool-touch or double-wall insulation design. For safety, we recommend always using the handle when pouring, and allowing the kettle to cool down before touching the metal surface.
