Purchased the Pallas recently having had Cybex before and as always, really pleased with the both the quality and price for a premium product. Love that you can keep the shield prior to using the seatbelt. Highly recommend.

1 year later: pros and cons
Works for both our children 21 months and 3.5 years old. For reference our son is very small and started using it at 78cm. Whilst it does dwarf him a bit after a couple of times in the seat he started to like it. He loves it now and can pass things from one hand to the other and uses it as a rest if he is eating a snack and fancies a break (I note some reviews say this isn’t possible-it is). I would recommend going by height more than minimum age neither of my children would have met the minimum height requirement at 15 months. When we bought the first one for our daughter we pitched it as a big hug and she still calls the impact shield her ‘huggie’. She has happily sat in it for over a year (including long journeys to France and Italy). You can take the covers off for cleaning. Favourite features: -Avoids any issues of wriggling out of harness’ which is why we had initially bought this for our daughter (when she was 28 months). -Head rest tilt: our kids frequently fall asleep in the car and in other brands of car seat we note that their chin always ends up on their chest this never happens in this seat. - tension strap: we have a dog so being able to have a clear footwell is great. Also good if you have long legs and drive a small car. Negatives: -Only 4 stars as they do get quite warm and whilst Cybex do sell a summer cover I think this should just be the standard fabric - we live in Scotland which isn’t exactly a ‘hot’ climate. - 2 of these mean even the tiniest adult/teen will be incredibly uncomfortable in the middle seat of any car, these seats are wide! Would I recommend/buy again? -Quite obviously yes as I have bought a second one. If you have an escapist or your child really wants to front face I think the negatives are minor compared to the positives.

Very good car seat
Our little A loves this car seat! Super happy bunny and good for when he falls asleep. Being a face forward car seat, we feel that little A is safe with the bit in front of him. Which is also really great for a quick nap!

Sturdy, safe car seat I highly recommend
We had been researching car seats for some time and toyed with this one back and forth. We have the Cybex Priam Platinum pram and travel system and have been really satisfied with the brand so far so thought it would be this one or a Recaro - but obviously chose this one. First impressions is super sturdy shell and seat. Our son was a bit surprised the first time by me fitting the shield but he got used to it in no time and is now even sleeping in it on long travels. I use the slightly reclined setting so it is even more comfortable for him Order arrived in no time and packed properly. Took me whole of 1 minute (if even) to fit it in the rear seat and adjust. Material looks like it will be easy to clean when this needs to happen.

Not fit for purpose.
I brought this a took it back. The idea is good but just doesn’t work, my daughter is two and a half and it was too tight even on its biggest setting, my daughter cried as it was so uncomfortable.

Has this actually been tested on real children?
The shield is extremely uncomfortable for my daughter and makes care journeys unliveable. It might result in safer journeys but evidently nothing is safer than not going out at all since some children will refuse to sit in that torture contraption. Some other reviewers had mentioned this issue. Avoid. Cybex will not return it because I peeled the label. Noting that as far as I had seen this was not clearly specified in their terms and conditions on the website (they also say the seat should not have been used in traffic conditions - making their seats virtually impossible to return).

Safest car seat
Upgraded from old car seat, as my 3 year old was able to get his arms out of the arm straps and harnesses did not work. My little one is so much safer in this car seat and seems happier to get into it than the old car seat. Really easy to install and installed in a few minutes

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Cybex Pallas G I-Size Moon Black Car Seat : The Pallas G i-Size is permanently attached to its base.
The Base Z2 is compatible with the Cloud Z2 i-Size, Cloud T i-Size, Sirona Z2 i-Size, and the Sirona T i-Size.

No it comes with the bumper cushion instead of straps. I have one and its really easy and quick to get the child buckled in
