Great suction performance
Very happy with the vacuums' performance. You can actually see the difference between the cleanliness of the carpet using this Dyson compared with our old machine. Only niggle is not being able to attach the crevice tool to the wand, but, at least, combination tool does, enabling you to reach higher places. You can really see the amount of dirt picked up and it's a doddle to empty.

Disappointed
I bought the Dyson gen5 a few weeks ago and I was disappointed at first with the colours I wasn’t provided with all copper and blue has is shown on the website. It is heavier than my V11 and the battery doesn’t seem to hold its charge. When I’ve fully charged it the next day it’s only got around 20 minutes left. It has got good suction but that causes issues of it stopping on deep pile carpets and rugs. The inbuilt tool is handy and the soft floor head with green light is good.Not very noisy Overall I should have purchased the V15 not has heavy, battery lasts longer and no issues with stopping. When I’m shown on a website what I’m purchasing I expect to get the exact same. Dyson you should do better these machines are not cheap

the whole vacuum cleaner is very heavy, and the dust container is also difficult to open, too expensive The smaller motorized head is practically useless, it only sucks up the dust in the middle.

Great hoover very powerful , need to use it on eco for carpets other settings to powerful. Max 50 mins battery with rotating brush heads in eco mode.

Just recently bought this Dyson Gen5 Detect Animal. It has 2 floor tools which are deal for hard floors or carpets. The hard floor tool lights up which enables you to see anything on the hard floor which was previously missed with my older Dyson. A little bit heavier but you get used to it. Great price as I got it in the early black friday sale. Would highly recommend

Dyson performance but underwhelming given cost
Decent, slightly quieter than the V10 it replaced, not necessarily worth the RRP, light feature and micron monitor are just gimmicks and not needed. Filter has changed meaning you can't add vac fresh discs anymore which us disappointing. Dock doesn't have the same fixing positions so replacing an older dock means new fixings. Dyson performance but underwhelming for the hefty price tag.
