Yes they do the job
These curtains do black out the sunshine and are a nice silver grey. The only thing I would say is the material is more like a tarpaulin with a rubber backing so they are not fancy, but they do the job.

These are fully lined blackout curtains so would be thicker and also sit better when hung than curtains that are not lined. This would not make them stiff.
They are made from 52% polyester and 48% cotton.
