Big improvement over Fitbit
I've had two Fitbit Charge 5s go kaput in <1 yr so decided to pay a little more and buy this Garmin. So glad I did. The Garmin is much easier to control, has more features, a larger screen and a longer battery life. Plus it was easy to set up.

After checking with the supplier, I can confirm this Garmin Venu Sq 2 Smart Watch tracks steps, intensity minutes, calories burned and more. You can even sync this data across multiple Garmin smartwatches by using the Garmin Connect app. Garmin are one of the most accurate monitor of all of the fitness trackers available on the market

The supplier has advised the following for the Garmin Venu Sq 2 Smart Watch – White/Cream Gold: "the Venu SQ 2 has an auto start activity feature for Running and Walking".
The watch will need to be "told" what it is doing first and you'd enable the Auto Activity Start Feature via the Garmin website or the App as it's not on by default.
Once it's on and set, the feature allows the watch to start an activity automatically when the Move IQ feature detects that you are walking or running. You can set the minimum time threshold for running to 1, 2, or 3 minutes and walking to 5, 10, or 15 minutes. For it to work, you need to do the required exercise for at least the minimum time you've set it for.

Your paired phone must be equipped with a data plan and be in an area of network coverage where data is available. Before you can enable incident detection on your watch, you must set up emergency contacts in the Garmin Connect app (Adding Emergency Contacts). Your emergency contacts must be able to receive emails or text messages (standard text messaging rates may apply).
From the watch face, hold Letter B symbol.
Select Settings symbol > Safety & Tracking > Incident Detection.
Select an activity.
NOTE: Incident detection is available only for certain outdoor activities.
When an incident is detected by your Venu® Sq 2 watch and your phone is connected, the Garmin Connect app can send an automated text message and email with your name and GPS location (if available) to your emergency contacts. A message appears on your watch and paired phone indicating your contacts will be informed after 15 seconds have elapsed. If assistance is not needed, you can cancel the automated emergency message.

This feature only alerts you when your heart rate exceeds or drops below a certain number of beats per minute, as selected by the user, after a period of inactivity. This feature does not notify you of any potential heart condition and is not intended to treat or diagnose any medical condition or disease.
