Compulsory Auto Renew Not Expected
I have bought this product from Argos as a single one year use anti virus product for many years. On install I realised that McAfee had added in ‘auto renew’ with them before you could proceed to load it. It does say you can opt out which I will be doing. On looking at the description it does NOW say auto renew which it previously didn’t but having bought this for many years I hadn’t noticed it. This does not sit right with me at all as the renewal is £79.99. I obviously should have checked the description more carefully.

Bought the McAfee Total Protection as it was already installed on my Laptop, almost instant code delivery, and installation was seamless, to renew through McAfee was quoted £70, so at a tenner this was a no brainer. Only downside was had to give card details for auto renew, so a little bit of effort required to turn that feature off, but that's not Argos fault just McAfee trying to get you to auto renew next year!! Well done Argos will be back next year for sure.

Reasonable Cover
Brought this a week ago. As our anti virus was up for renewal. This McAfee was a reasonable price. Made sure we purchased the card and entered the key etc. As had read the reviews. Seems to do the job which is what you would like to safe guard the computer. Was not straightforward to download as was expected.

I bought this last week but unfortunately my laptop has already got a security app on which I didnt realise .. So I was unable to use the McAfee download . . I tried to get a refund but was refused . So now stuck with a product I cant use .

My sub doesnt expire untl September, yet all through July Mcafee sends me emails telling me that i need to purchase now or otherwise ill be screwed, last year i called to complain that they were harrising me to purchase before my sub ran out they appolagised. I use them because they are cheap £10.00

Yes, it is required to enter your debit/credit card details in order to activate the product.
Once you have done this and activated you can opt out of the renewal in 12 months time.
How to OPT OUT:
1. Go to your account on the McAfee site.
2. Sign in using your email and password, social login, or a one-time passcode.
3. Click Subscriptions.
4. Click Cancel for the subscription you want to turn off Auto-Renewal and scroll down > Click Cancel Auto-Renewal.
5. After you click Turn off, you’ll get an email from McAfee confirming that your auto-renewal is deactivated.
6. After turning off Auto-Renewal, your subscription stays active until the end of your subscription period.

I HAVE PAID ABOUT 50 POUNDS, THE MCAFEE I BOUGHT FROM ARGOS I COULD NOT USE, WASTED MY MONEY! HAD TO RENEW IN ANOTHER WAY BECAUSE THE ONE I BOUGHT FROM ARGOS THEY WANT YOUR CARD DETAILS FOR AUTO RENEW. 39 POUNDS TO RENEW AND 9.99 WAS WASTED!!!
