Great quality great price
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been really impressed with this short throw projector so far. The picture quality is probably my favourite thing about it. The image is really sharp, and there’s a lot of detail skin tones and colours look natural, and overall it makes watching films and shows feel much more immersive. Setting it up was pretty straightforward too. I was actually surprised by how good the picture looks without a projector screen. I’m currently projecting it straight onto a wall, and the results are still really good. I have ordered a screen for it and can't wait for it to arrive to complete my setup. The built-in speakers are also better than expected It gets surprisingly loud and has enough sound to fill the room so I don’t feel like I need to add a separate soundbar straight away. I also really like the design. It’s compact looks modern and doesn’t take up loads of space so it fits in nicely without standing out too much. Overall I’m really happy with it. The picture quality, sound, easy setup and compact design make it a great projector for the money, and I’d definitely recommend it.

Easily replaces a traditional TV
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this thinking it would come out for movie nights and nothing else. A few weeks in and it has quietly taken over as the main screen in the family room. The thing I was most sceptical about was how it would cope with a normal room with the lights on. Every projector I have owned before needed blackout blinds and a bit of ceremony before you could watch anything. This one doesn't. We had F1 on with the curtains open and the picture still had punch to it. Colours stay rich instead of washing out to grey, which I put down to the triple laser setup. Reds look properly red rather than orange. Setup took about forty minutes including faffing with the position. Being ultra short throw it sits inches from the wall, so no cable across the ceiling and nobody walking through the beam. I am running roughly 100 inches and the geometry lined up with only minor tweaking. Measure twice before you settle it down, because small movements make a visible difference. The sound surprised me most. I had a soundbar ready to go and still have not plugged it in. Dialogue is clear, there is real weight behind music and effects, and it throws sound wider than the box suggests it should. It will not embarrass a proper surround setup, but for everyday viewing it is more than enough. 4K detail is excellent and older content gets upscaled sensibly rather than smeared. Streaming apps are all there and the menus move quickly. Gaming feels responsive too, no lag I could pick up in normal play. Two honest gripes. Blacks are good rather than exceptional, so in a dark room during a really murky scene you can see where the limits are. And if you push the image much past 120 inches you start trading brightness for size, so be realistic about how big you go. Budget for an ambient light rejecting screen if you want the best out of it in daylight. For the money it does what I assumed only far pricier kit could manage. Big, bright, colourful and easy to live with. I would buy it again.

A worthy upgrade from prior models
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Being a big enjoyer of media and gaming I've always gone for bigger screens, for the past 6 years I've been gaming on a projector and 4 years ago I made the switch to a Hisense Laser TV. So I've some prior experience of their products. This also made the installation very easy as I already had the screen in place and was almost a straight swap. But lets talk about it anyway Installation is very simple with step by step guidance and measurements offered for whichever screen size you are aiming to achieve. Given I already had a 100" ALR screen ready, I just swapped it out with my previous UST and it was pretty close to perfect. I always find manual adjustment to be nicer than the automated one, but it has certainly improved the process from previously. One thing I liked with this model is that due to the large range of possibilities, the screen adjustments also seem a lot wider meaning you don't have to get it quite as perfect and the focus adjustment for sharpening is perfect! Performance of the device is great, it boots up quickly and is almost whisper quiet. I don't have any external audio system hooked up and the onboard speaker is more than enough for movie enjoyment. The remote is a nice size and rechargeable via USB So looking at the UI it uses Hisense VIDAA OS which is fine but limited on apps, the Freely functionality works great and channel switching is fast, great for those without an aerial. Pushing movies through this is great, it handles everything I've thrown at it including some Dolby Vision movies with Atmos sound. The colours are bright and the sound is punchy. Bonus 3D! One thing that was a very welcome addition is 3D, a relic of the past maybe but with a lot of 3D media in my collection it was nice to see, grabbing a couple of active 3D glasses and the picture looked great. Also hooking up my AYN Thor allowed me to play 3DS games in 3D also. Gaming I've hooked up a PS5 Pro to this and its looked great, one thing that isn't mentioned anywhere and isn't even in the manual is that this machine seems to handle and output 4K/120, everywhere so 50/60hz but this shows 120 when playing things like GT7 when set to that. It has gaming modes and also a quite novel Map Zoom option that lets you pick a portion of the screen that it will zoom in to (a small mini map) and display that alongside the main screen blown up much larger. Overall I am very happy with this purchase and it's a solid upgrade from my previous 100L5FTUK model.
