It is very difficult to describe colours but I would say that it is more a very dark grey with a brown tint, it is definitely not a straight black.

I have spoken to our supplier who have advised as follows:
"There is no reason why the customer cannot do this themselves, it will not have any negative affect on the unit – we do not supply shelving and there is no appropriate drilling holes for any shelf supports so this will all have to be done by the customer."
Please note any changes made will void the warranty.
