About this product
This industrial shelving unit provides organised storage for books, magazines, tools and decorative bits. A strong metal frame with an X-brace design keeps it stable, while three long wooden shelves spread storage across nearly two metres of width. Each shelf holds up to 25kg, providing proper load capacity for heavier items. The black finish and minimalist frame suit home offices, dining rooms, or any modern space needing practical storage without fuss. It's tall enough to use vertical space but won't overwhelm smaller rooms.
The metal frame supports the wooden shelves and resists everyday marks and minor knocks. It arrives flat-packed with all the fixings you need and clear instructions for putting it together. Wall-mounting brackets are included and must be used, that's really important for stability with any tall furniture, especially if you've got kids or pets around. Its ok
Ive had this about 3-4 weeks, it was easy to put together however the middle part of it was more difficult and it doesn't fit like a glove theres a 1mm, I feel that if it's moved it may come apart more. It does look nice though and holds a fair amount

Could be better, could be worse.
I bought this with the intention of displaying some of my Lego Collection on here. Unfortunately when it arrived some of the wooden MDF shelving was scratched and slightly dented. I spoke to Argos and initially they were going to collect it and refund the money however on the day, the van broke down and they couldn’t collect so they gave me a £45 discount and let me keep it. I built the item and some screws would not align to the holes in the metal. Further to this, the black panelling leaves greasy marks from sweat so be warned when building!. Luckily mine will be mostly covered. Other than that, it is relatively sturdy. Probably wouldn’t buy furniture from Argos again though, too pricey.

Large sturdy shelf
Great size. Fits perfectly in the space I had available. Built by myself and was a bit fiddly at times but quite straightforward to put together if you read the instructions properly. Holds a lot of stuff - ideal for vinyl record and music collections. Large cube storage boxes fit perfectly.

Contemporary shelf unit
This unit replaced an old IKEA Kallax unit and I am very pleased with its slim contemporary look. I have to admit that I hired a professional handyman to assemble it - it took him one hour.

Having checked the instructions I can see there are support beams under the middle shelves so would not be suitable for using as two units.

I have spoken to our supplier who have advised as follows:
The Habitat Huckley Industrial Shelving Unit bottom shelf to middle shelf is 35.5 cm and middle shelf to top shelf is 35.5 cm.
