Camera doesn't tilt far enough to see anything
I can't say I'm overly impressed. The camera quality itself is pretty good, no issues there. But the sound is quite low, even when turned up to the max volume, I do worry that if me and my wife are in a deep sleep, we may struggle to hear our child who is on the floor above us. The biggest issue I've found is that the camera can't be tilted enough to actually see what's happening in the cot. We had planned to have this on a shelf next to the bed but we couldn't tilt the camera enough. The instructions do suggest mounting to the wall, but again, a suitable angle couldn't be found. The only way I could see this working would be if it was mounted to the ceiling which is just ridiculous. We therefore found ourselves being upsold into buying a £50 floor stand that the camera sits on. The price baffles me, it feels really flimsy but we did finally manage to get the camera at an angle where we could see our child in the cot. How anyone has managed to get this camera to function properly without the floor stand amazes me. I'm surprised there aren't more comments similar to mine. Just to add, I'm not being an idiot here, it really wouldn't tilt!

Good for the price. Narrow vision, sensitive mic
Bought it a few weeks ago. The main issue is the lens angle is very narrow so you almost need to put it right next to baby to see anything. Also the camera mic is super sensitive so we can be in another room and it picks up the sound - feeds it back through the monitor and then relays it back. You almost need to keep the video monitor muffled. Once baby starts moving it's not as good.

I bought this for our grandsons cot when he stays with us. Our daughter has the same one and really likes it as you can not only see and hear your little one but you can talk to them to give reassurance and it is really effective.

The VTech VM3254 has 2 x lullabies and 2 x soothing sounds.
Lullaby/Soothing number “3” in the menu is a “shush” sound.
Note that some models have a white noise sound which is similar, but continuous, unlike the “shush”.

The parent using is mains charged but will require n off a battery. The baby end is mains only. A lot of people dont want cables in their babies or toddlers room so not ideal for them, especially if they are in a new build or rental where they are not allowed to attach anything to walls.
