Great brand great features!
A recent purchase, which I have now removed from the box and used, and I am delighted, although not surprised because it is my third Tefal Generator, two between 2000 and 2026 with what I would consider a normalweekly workload! Life is so much easier with that additional steam capacity crease removal and glide, along with the ease of use tank - perfect!

Tefal iron generator
I have just purchased this iron generator, as a replacement for my previous one, price was good as it was reduced in sale, I have only used once since my purchase. But what I’ve seen so far is , I am satisfied. The water tank holds a great amount of water so less filling up. Also great that cable wraps in which keeps it tidy when storing away . I’m happy with my purchase and would recommend

Cord problem
The cord is the issue, in the way at the beginning but after a month it seems to be going down so dose not get in the way so much. Otherwise a great steam iron.

Iron
Just purchased too early for a comprehensive review but will update later. Good price from Argos, hopefully it will give a few years service. 3 previous ones by Murphy Richards were outlasted by the filters I bought for them!

Inferior iron
3rd steam generator iron I have had and this is so inferior to the other two. Iron is very heavy and garments are soaked with water when you use steam button.

Faulty design on cable is a issue..
Unfortunately, I will be returning this item. The faulty design of the cable rubs against ones wrist during use leaving my wrist red and sore. Also the steam is not that great on linen so I will be going back to using starch

Best on the Market
As I think it’s the best on the market for the way it operates smoothly and has great steam pressure The tank that you put the water in holds a lot of water which means you don’t have to keep on filling it regularly The price was so good is another point why I bought as well.

Hello Jod.
After checking with our supplier, they have advised for Tefal SV6131 Express Easy Steam Generator Iron:
It’s the material that will dictate the iron ability of a garment. This is a temperature control sole plate perfect for all material types as in standard duvet covers.
Thank you for using Q & A.
Hi Wendy, we do not recommend to use any water other than untreated tap water in the iron. If you know you live in a hard water area the untreated tap water can be mixed 50/50 with either distilled or demineralised water but there needs to be at least a 50% concentration of untreated tap water used in order for the steam function to work properly. Our irons are specifically made to use untreated tap water. Do not use pure demineralised water, water from clothes dryers, scented or softened water, rain water, filtered, bottled or boiled water, water from refrigerators, batteries or air conditioners, pure distilled water or rain water as these may damage the iron. These types of water contain organic waste, mineral elements that become concentrated when heated and cause spitting, brown staining, leaking or premature wear on your iron.
Hi Wendy,
The Tefal SV6131 Express Easy Steam Generator Iron is designed to use regular tap water.

Thank you for using Q&A
You are able to use this product in the USA as long as a step-down transformer is used.
When you use the 'synthetic' or 'wool' settings, the temperature will decrease and no steam is required. Thus there is no need to press the steam trigger.
