Built in back up software
I bought this as I realised having a portable back up drive for my laptop is a good idea. It took a while the first time using the software that comes with the drive, but the next time I used it it was very quick. I'm a bit of a technophobe but I guess it only alters what's changed since the last back up was made. I expected each back up would be a filed by date allowing a roll back, but that is not the case, as it replaces the previous version. However, it has plenty of space for dragging and dropping copies of folders you may wish to roll back too?

Great capacity in a small size.
Very compact size makes it easily portable, it's large capacity is excellent for storing all my photos plus other files and there is still plenty of space left for more.

Portable drive
The speed of saving files is a bit slow. However, most functionalities are good.

Small package- Great performance!
I bought this 4Tb drive a couple of weeks ago as my 2TB backup drive was almost full. Transfer from 2 to 4 was a breeze although it did take a few hours even running at 40-50 MB/s. Excellent performance and warranty from Seagate.

there is no reason why this Hard Drive cannot be formatted to NTFS before use. In fact, formatting it to NTFS can be beneficial, especially if you plan to use it primarily with Windows systems, as NTFS supports larger file sizes and better security features compared to FAT32 or exFAT.
