Disappointing quality and no response to complaint

I collected this original order from my local store, opened the box as soon as I got home and found that one of the grey drawer bases was badly cracked. I returned it to the store, where the staff were very helpful, ordered me a replacement item, and told me to take the original back home and collect it the next day, which I did. While I was in the store, we opened the box together and checked all the drawer bases (the contents of the top half of the box), which all looked fine. We did not check the bottom half of the box (the drawers themselves) at that point. I returned home and tried to assemble the unit. To push the legs onto the drawer bases requires a lot of force to get them to fit snugly, and unfortunately the very first one I did cracked severely under the pressure (even though I was deliberately doing it on a very thick carpet to mitigate against that possibility). I also discovered that one of the drawers was split down the rear left corner. I am unwilling to keep making trips specifically to the store when there is clearly an issue with the quality of the product. I have ended up assembling just two of the drawer bases and using the two undamaged drawers (there is no way of disassembling this now as it will break again due to the extremely brittle plastic, and in any case I simply don’t have the time to keep going back to the store). So I now have an inferior product to the one that I paid for – a lot of money, incidentally; exactly the same unit is available at Asda for £28 rather than the £38 I paid at Argos. I contacted customer service two weeks ago with the above details in the hope that Argos/Sainsburys may consider this plea and offer some sort of credit note or refund for some of the amount paid. I offered to send photographs of the damaged parts, as that would still be quicker than taking time out to go back to store. I have yet to receive a response or acknowledgement of my email. Both the in-store staff and the customer service representative on the helpline were very polite and accommodating, so I have no issues with them at all; simply with the quality of what is a very expensive product for what it is.

DREADFUL QUALITY - AVOID!

This is dreadful quality! Like other reviewers, one corner of the casing was cracked on opening the box. The drawers do not fit properly - really difficult to get them to close if you put anything in them (kind of defeats the purpose!). Honestly I would avoid this purchase. I didn't return as it was just before Christmas and I really needed the storage in the kitchen. Would NOT buy again!

Okay, bits snap of when building

Not the best designed, as the cups for the legs and so snug fitting bits of plastic break off as assemble. Couldn't get legs to fully go into cups, so partially assembled. Draws are okay, not too flimsy. Fits a niche that not many other wider plastic draws.

Awful product avoid!

It is flimsy and you can't open the drawer properly. Pieces snapped whilst assembling. Three times. Avoid!!

Great Storage Drawer Unit

I bought this as a set of drawers for storing shoes etc. It arrived with damage on one corner of each drawer. It was replaced by the next day and that one was undamaged. The item is a bit fragile on the drawer corners, but overall it assembles easily and looks pretty good. It is just the right height to fit under a coat rack and there is ample space in each drawer for storage. I would consider purchasing another similar item.

Half of it broken

It's a good thing I only needed two out of the three drawers, as one of the drawers had a crack in it and three other pieces had chunks taken out of them. After assembling the remaining parts, I also spotted that two of the vertical pieces had cracks in them, which doesn't affect the functionality but makes me think this likely won't last long. If I had realized the extend of the damage/ poor quality soon enough I would have returned this. Avoid.
