The Vicks VUL525 Mini Cool Mist Ultrasonic Humidifier delivers soothing moisture to help you breathe easier and sleep better. Using quiet ultrasonic technology, it releases a gentle, visible cool mist that's completely safe for children's bedrooms and nurseries, with no risk of burns. The 1.8L tank provides up to 24 hours of continuous use, covering rooms up to 15 square meters, whilst the 180-degree adjustable nozzle lets you direct the mist exactly where you need it to maintain comfortable humidity levels between 40% and 60%.
With dual VapoPad technology, you can insert 2 scented pads with essential oils for extra comfort and easy breathing. 2 menthol VapoPads are included. The easy-clean filter and new cleaning feature simplify maintenance, while variable control settings let you adjust mist output. At 39 decibels, it operates quietly without disturbing sleep. Auto shut-off activates when water runs low, and the visible water level indicator shows when to refill. At 24cm tall with a 1.8m cord, it uses 21 watts and comes with a 2-year manufacturer's guarantee.

Thank you for your question! Yes, you can absolutely use regular tap water in the Vicks Mini Cool Mist Ultrasonic Humidifier.
However, because this is an ultrasonic humidifier, the type of water you use can affect its performance depending on your local water quality:
Hard Water / High Mineral Content: If you live in a hard water area, you may notice a light, harmless "white dust" (mineral deposits) settling around the room, and the device will require more frequent cleaning.
Our Recommendation: To minimize cleaning and completely prevent white dust, we highly recommend using distilled or demineralized water if possible. Alternatively, you can use a Vicks Demineralization Cartridge (Model: Protec PDC51-UK) in the tank to help filter out minerals from your tap water.

If your light is on but you aren't hearing that audible alert, we would recommend reaching out to our Customer Support Team directly. They can help troubleshoot whether this is a minor setting issue or a fault with the alert system to ensure your humidifier is working exactly as it should!

Hi Jess! It is perfectly normal to hear a light trickling or bubbling sound when your humidifier is running. This is simply the sound of water moving from the tank into the base reservoir to keep the mist flowing. Because this model uses a gravity-fed system, you’ll hear that 'glugging' or trickling as the unit automatically refills itself.

The water tank is technically transparent (clear), but it has a slight blue tint to the plastic. It is clear enough that you can easily see the water level and when it needs a clean.

"For safety and optimal performance, we only recommend using Vicks VapoPads with this humidifier. Our devices are specifically calibrated to work with the size and essential oil concentration of our own pads. Using other brands may result in poor performance or damage to the unit.
Considering your baby age, we recommend running the humidifier with plain water only. It will still soothe the baby`s airways and help him breathe easier without the risk of an incorrect or over-concentrated scent pad.

Hello and thank you for your interest in our product. For best cleaning routine you could refer to the product manual where you will find a step-by-step guideline. For best performance, the humidifier needs regular cleaning. Every 3 days, empty the tank, rinse it with clean water, remove any buildup, and dry all parts. Don’t leave water sitting in the tank when not in use.
Once a week, remove scale by soaking the tank and reservoir in white vinegar for 15–20 minutes, then rinse well. Also disinfect weekly using a mild bleach solution, letting it sit for 20 minutes before rinsing thoroughly. Never immerse the base in water and avoid detergents or abrasive cleaners.
