I can advise that while the Argos Home Maxtra+ Water Filter Cartridges - Pack of 3 are compatible with the Brita Marella XL 3.5L, the performance won't be as adequate using a Maxtra Pro cartridge due to the size of the jug.

The supplier has advised the following for the Home Maxtra+ Water Filter Cartridges - Pack of 3:
“ The design of the funnel allows the cartridge to be kept hydrated at all times, without the necessity of keeping the jug totally full, therefore water underneath the cartridge is essential to allow the cartridge to perform at it’s optimum.
This water is constantly replenished and changed as the water filters through the cartridge. ”
