The Sony HT-S40R turns your living room into a home cinema with properly immersive 5.1ch surround sound that wraps around the room. With 600W of power driving a soundbar, subwoofer and wireless rear speakers, this system delivers Dolby Digital audio that makes films and music feel fuller and more engaging. The rear speakers connect through a wireless amplifier, so you get genuine surround sound without cables trailing across your floor, and the subwoofer adds 180W of deep bass that brings action scenes and soundtracks to life.
Setup's straightforward with HDMI and optical connections to your TV, and Bluetooth lets you stream music directly from your phone or pair with BRAVIA TVs for wireless audio. There's also USB and 3.5mm inputs if you need them. The soundbar sits at 90cm wide and 5.2cm tall, fitting neatly under most TVs, and it's wall-mountable if you'd rather keep your stand clear. It's good for the money, Sony have dropped the ball on the usual standards, a budget price.. equills budget build, at higher volumes the sound goes dull a little. There's no tone and bass control. And the preset sounds are all the same.. but all in all, its OK, it does the job

Not bad, but slightly disappointing
Bought this item recently although I do like it i found that given its 600 watt and my older model of this item was 400 watt I expected my new system to be louder and sound better with bass, but my older model sounds a lot better given its 200 Watt less, thats about the only thing I found disappointing as I do have to turn it up more than my older model.

No they are not completely wireless, you have an amplifier that connects wirelessly to the main unit, then the surround speakers are wired to the amplifier.
