Bought for someone else. Overall the product is expected quality for the discounted price I paid. Instructions aren't brilliant but reasonably easy to put together as left my 12yr old to assemble. It is stable and holds the tv perfectly.

The Black Card Inserts are to fit behind each of the front legs to improve the look of the finish. They aren't really designed to help hide cables. The back leg (which doesn't have a card insert) would be where we would advise hiding all your cables as there is plenty of space. Regards, Team AVF.
Yes that Sony TV will fit just fine on the AVF Up To 42 Inch TV Stand. There may be a little bit of screen overhang each side of the stand, but the TV feet will fit on the top of the TV Stand. Regards, Team AVF.

There are no holes in the rear leg. The leg is open at the back and cable ties are provided so you can run you cables down behind the rear leg to hide them from view. We will look at getting the description changed to correct that issue.
