Rubbish
I bought this last week and it doesn’t work properly. Unfortunately I have thrown away the packaging so I don’t think I can get a refund so I am really dissapointed. I have to have a reliable fingertip monitor as I am on oxygen twenty four hours a day. Jennifer Robson

Hi Mags,
The battery life for the Braun Fingertip Pulse Oximeter typically provides approximately 30 hours of continuous use. However, the actual lifespan will depend entirely on the type and brand of AAA batteries you choose to use.
This 30-hour benchmark is based on using brand-new, high-quality alkaline batteries. Opting for high-performance or lithium batteries can extend this lifespan, while budget or older batteries may drain more quickly.
Because the device is designed with an automatic power-off feature that shuts it down just a few seconds after you remove your finger, a standard set of high-quality batteries will comfortably last you through months of everyday spot-checks.
Best regards,
Mariya, Braun Healthcare Team
Hi Grams,
Thank you for your question regarding the Braun YK-81CEU Fingertip Pulse Oximeter.
This specific model is designed to be fully portable and operates exclusively on 2 AAA batteries. It does not have an input for a mains power adapter or a plug.
Using battery power ensures that the device remains lightweight and easy to use anywhere, whether you are at home or on the go. To conserve energy, the device also features an automatic power-off function after a few seconds of inactivity.
We hope this clarifies things for you!
Best regards,

Hello Derek,
The oximeter's measurement range is 30 to 254 BPM.
As noted in the manual, several factors can affect readings, such as nail polish, cold hands, swollen fingers, or certain medical conditions.
For a quick check, please try testing on a different finger or, for a more reliable comparison, on another person. If the issue continues, our Customer Support team is happy to assist you directly at Braun_Support@helenoftroy.eu.
Best regards,
Mariya, Braun Europe Team

Hello Becky! Thanks for reaching out!
The Braun YK-81CEU Fingertip Pulse Oximeter is labeled as suitable for adults aged 18 and over. This age restriction is likely due to the device's calibration and design, which are optimized for adult finger sizes and physiological parameters. Using it on children could result in inaccurate readings due to differences in finger size, skin thickness, and circulation.
If you're looking for a pulse oximeter for a child, it's best to consult a healthcare provider.
We hope this information is helpful. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to us at Braun_Support@helenoftroy.eu.

Hi! The Braun YK-81CEU Fingertip Pulse Oximeter is a small and portable device that can be used to check oxygen levels and pulse rate in the fingertip. To get accurate readings, it is recommended that you keep your finger still during measurements. It's best not to use it while you're walking or running, as the movement can make the readings inaccurate.
We hope this information helps. If you have more questions or need more information, please contact us at Braun_Support@helenoftroy.eu.

Hello, Jayne! Thank you for your question. The Braun YK-81CEU Fingertip Pulse Oximeter 1 measures pulse rate and pulse amplitude in addition to oxygen saturation (%SpO2). The pulse rate is the number of contractions of the blood vessels as a result of the heart pumping blood in a minute, while the heart rate is the number of times a heart beats in a minute. If your doctor advised you to follow both closely, we recommend seeking their advice for the best solution. We hope this reply will prove helpful. If you need any additional information about the oximeter, don't hesitate to send us an email at Braun_Support@helenoftroy.eu.
Best regards,
