About this product
The Habitat Nel Pair of Solid Wood Spindle Chairs give you comfortable seating for family dinners, home working, or when friends pop round. They're solid oak throughout, that's natural hardwood that's durable and stands up to everyday use. The square wooden seat's got curved spindles across the back that soften the traditional look and give it a fresh feel. You'll get two chairs in this set, so there's space for a couple more at the table or extra seating when you need it. The natural wood finish shows off the grain and works with both country-style and modern furniture.
The solid wood design keeps everything stable and supports up to 100kg per chair, so you've got reliable everyday seating. Each chair's the right height for standard dining tables, and the solid seat's comfortable enough for longer meals or work sessions. You can add a cushion if you want extra softness. They're really easy to keep clean, just wipe them down with a sponge and warm soapy water when needed. Some assembly's required, one person can manage it, and all the fixings are included. Manufacturer's one-year guarantee is included too.

Dining chairs
Once assembled the chairs looked good and were reasonably comfortable, however one of the holes in the side of the chair did not align so I had to chisel some of the wood to make metal cylindrical bolts fit ( this was the same for all 4 of the chairs I purchased, it clearly is a quality control issue.

Good solid furniture
Really nice solid piece of furniture- even better at the reduced price. The one thing I'd say is there are no pilot holes in the seat portion- which is an issue given the nature of natural wood. As the wood adjust it to temperature it will expand a little, filling the gaps that seem to make the seat portion not fit the frame. However, without pilot holes this makes it difficult to align as they don't fit perfectly fresh out of the box. Overall a nice quality product- but pilot holes would make it excellent!

Excellent chairs but not without issues!
These are lovely chairs that are easy to make. I know that because the wife made them without swearing once. They are though not without problems. The four chairs came, flat packed, in two cartons. Upon getting to the bottom chairs in each carton my wife noticed that they were marked and rubbed in places. We rang Argos and they offered to send replacements, on the condition that the ones sent back were dismantled and put back in their original box. Now as I said, my wife made them easily enough, but she really wasn't that happy to dismantle them, and she was concerned that the next ones might be marked too. So, we were forced to keep them, give them a wipe over and use a special crayon to patch them up! They are nice chairs though! Very comfortable too.

Proper Dining Chairs
All wood, I found these easy and quick to put together, the result seems quite sturdy and is heavy - think proper dining chairs rather than bistro chairs. As expected with no contouring of the seat base for one's bottom, seat pads / cushions would be needed. I was pleased enough to repeat purchase, ending up with six chairs in total.

Good quality and will be easy to keep clean. The only downside is that the back is rigid and uncomforable to lean back against. A scalloped shape might be better.

Thanks for your query about the Nel Pair of Solid Wood Spindle Chair - Oak.
The seat section is 430mm x 385mm. This includes two small sections cut out at the back of this seat part for where the back attaches to it. This means that it'll probably just fit a 40cm cushion but it may overlap/overhang a bit at the front.
