This solar-powered LED Guardian floodlight from Luceco is a powerful and efficient outdoor lighting solution. With 550lm and a 4000K colour temperature, it emits a neutral white light creating a bright ambience and intruder deterrent. Great solar lamp
Installed to illuminate a garden path by the side of the house and to see a padlock on gate in the dark. Provides a subdued light in the darkness in normal operation and gets much brighter when the PIR detects you. If you have the ability to wire in a mains powered lamp then do that, but for a simple installation this lamp has exceeded my expectations.

Bought three of these to replace the wired in one which I'd bought and didn't work. As mentioned in previous reviews the sensor range is fairly minimal (6 metres?). That said it works for me. The order and collection from Argos was really straightforward. Easy to install even with my limited skills. What I really like is the ambient light after dusk which provides a nice glow to the back garden. The reaction time and illumination is perfect.

Looks nice on the wall and does the job
Bought solar floodlight to put on wall over my 3 council bins as its dark where they are sited. It omits a gentle light all the time (sun/weather permitting) and comes brighter when you approach it. I am really pleased with it so far, had it for about a month now. Just to mention it lights up the area below it, it doesn't light up the rest of the garden, not powerful enough.

"It depends on the mode it is in. Please see the below
Key Modes:
Security Mode (Motion Detection): The light remains off during the day and turns on at full brightness when motion is detected at night, then turns off after 20 seconds of no activity.
Presence Mode (Dim to Bright): The light operates at a low-level brightness (dim) at night and increases to full brightness when motion is detected.
Dusk 'til Dawn/Continuous Mode: The unit can be set to provide continuous light throughout the night."

Regarding the Luceco 5W Solar PIR Outdoor Floodlight. When the battery is above 30% you can single press the power button and it will automatically turn on to full brightness when motion is detected and ambient light is low. Then dims to 3% brightness in 20 seconds when no motion is detected.
When the battery is lower than 30% it will automatically turn on to full brightness when motion is detected. Then turns off in 20 seconds when no motion is detected.
You can also hold the power button for 3 seconds to enter override mode which disables the Motion and Light sensors. It will then turn on to full brightness until the battery capacity reduces to zero switching back to security mode.

The supplier has advised the following for the Luceco 5W Solar PIR Outdoor Floodlight:
No, not usually. "A drill would be needed to aid in the cable feed and mounting points to fasten the light into place".
The only time a drill might not be needed is if it's replacing a pre-existing floodlight that happens to have required pre-drilled screw holes of the same size and spacing as those of this product.
