The weights are rubber coated and my wife likes to deadlift and these work perfectly for that and other exercises, the hex shape is great for uneven surfaces and dont end up the other side of the room the handle is great for other exercises. I would recommend a deadlift mat and maybe floor support if you deadlift large amounts of weight
