About this product
This divan bed rail helps with your transfer into and out of one side of the bed without affecting anyone you're sharing the bed with. The hand grip sits above the bed and is ideal for use on divan beds, however, it comes with a strap for use on some slatted beds. The rail is designed with a high quality, easy to clean, epoxy resin finish with seven height adjustment handle settings. Max user weight 127kg (20 stone).
Ideal for use with Divan beds or use the supplied strap for use on slatted beds. Has a large base for improved stability.

Excellent for safety
I bought this after falling out of bed and injuring myself quite badly. It has given me confidence to fall asleep safely without fear of falling out and its main purpose is to transfer if needed. I think it is amazing, I am 66.

Perfect grab rail for a less able person.
I bought this for my Mum. It is a good quality well built item and it was easy to fit to the bed (you have to be able to reach under the bed with the straps). She is absolutely delighted with it and it has solved her problems with getting out of bed. It is solid and reliable.

"If you have a slatted bed without a lip or a divan bed this is suitable . The item sits on the slats & is then strapped around the bed , the mattress then goes on top."

My mother has this bed rail on a divan base and it works brilliantly. The base rails slide a good way under the mattress so it is sturdy and safe and you can position it wherever you need it. I don't know much about the mattress you refer to but I do know it helps my mum to pull herself up in bed and to twist herself round safely. Hope this helps.

I am not sure of the exact weight, my mother has this on her bed at the moment. It is well made and sturdy but not heavy and is easy for one person to put in place on the bed and also easy to manoeuvre around under the mattress to position it exactly.
Weight not relevant. It's easily portable and once in place under mattress it supports my 70 kilos. It does an excellent job. My only concern is as it is metal it is COLD. I cover it with a pillowslip.
No. Hospital beds are usually metal frames that are fully adjustable. This bed lever should never be used with it as it could damage it.
There is speciality bed levers provided by nhs for mechanical beds, once a full assessment on patient is performed. They are fixed to the frame.

This would depend on the type of bed base the hospital bed has. If the bed frame has a solid base, the Aidapt Divan Bed Rail may be suitable.
Many hospital beds have a tight mesh base which would be ok to use the rail with.

Regret can,t give you definitive answer. Works on beds with divan base and it says it works on wooden slatted base and even gives straps to help you secure it. As for metal base...don,t know. How heavy is your mattress ? It think it is the combined weight of the sleeper and the mattress that gives it stability.
