It's a kettle
I does what it says in the name - it's a kettle; and it does its job well. I would probably give it 5, but we've only had it for 5 minutes, so durability is an unknown factor. Fingers crossed!

Great kettle fire the price
Great kettle fire the price, looks good but obviously built to a budget so will see how long it lasts. I have gone through 2 more expensive models that broke when just out of guarantee!

Great kettle for the price
Bought as I had the same one for years which I was more than happy with, great to keep looking clean and couldn’t fault it for years of use it had. Hoping this one will serve me as well 🤞

Simply perfect
Bought this kettle to replace an old one that started leaking. Delighted with its appearance and performance: the water boils quickly and I wouldn't say it is particularly noisy.

Good size and value for money
This kettle capacity is 1.5L, so is a good size for a family. The illuminated water windows mean it is easy to check the water level.

Hello Marie,
After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Cookworks Illuminated Kettle - Brushed Stainless Steel: If you are referring to the rod located at the back of the kettle by the handle this is the steam pipe. It is to direct steam to a biometric strip thermostat which automatically switches the kettle off when the water boils.
