About this product
Boil enough water for the household quickly with this Cookworks Illuminated Kettle. Its 1.5-litre capacity makes around 6 cups, and the rapid boil feature means no waiting when you need tea. The illuminated water window glows blue while boiling so you can see how much you're heating, and boil dry protection switches off if pressed empty. The removable, washable limescale filter keeps drinks tasting clean and maintenance simple, while the stainless-steel interior and exterior provide a durable, smart finish for any worktop.
It's light at just 0.91kg when empty, so moving it around is easy, and the 360-degree base means you can lift and place it from any angle whether you're left or right-handed. The push-button lid opens smoothly, and the 0.75m cable gives you decent flexibility for placement. You'll get a 1-year manufacturer's guarantee for reassurance.

Good value
After needing to boil & discard the water for a few times to get rid of initial metallic taste the kettle has been great

Looks good, boils fine but has a bad smell.
Potentially as a kettle it will be fine. Good size, boils as it should and nice to have the illuminated water level. But, and we’ve only had it a few days, there is a smell to the kettle that also made the water taste wrong. We boiled it a few more times, emptying each time but still the smell persisted so it’s sitting now with a bicarb solution soaking in it (after boiling then adding) but the smell seems to be coming from inside the plastic lid. We will sadly need to return it if the smell does not go, which is disappointing as it was a good price and looks more expensive than it was.

Excellent design
I bought this kettle a couple of weeks ago and I am extremely happy with it. The weight is good, it is comfortable to handle and the light up switch and water level is a bonus. It is very well designed.

Great kettle
Bought this kettle to replace a leaking one, I went for the stainless steel one this time, it looks really sleek and smart, boils quickly with no excess noise, I do find it a little heavy but I can live with that, I bought in spite of a few reviews from people who found there to be a metallic after taste, after following the instructions I didn't experience any such problems, very good quality kettle at a competitive price. It has the best pour of any kettle I've ever owned, good filter and I find the illuminated gauge a real help.

Great kettle
My old kettle died and so bought this one because I've had cookworks products before and they have been very good. This kettle is very good and a good price.

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Cookworks Illuminated Kettle - Brushed Stainless Steel: If you are referring to the rod located at the back of the kettle by the handle this is the steam pipe.
