The cotton is nice very soft and silky. However the double is too big for my double mattress. My mattress is not a thin one either. The sheet only has elastic corners not all the way round and It is constantly coming off. I wish I could return for a refund. £25 for one sheet expected better .

This is solid white. Being a sateen weave, the fabric itself has characteristics of a "sheen surface and soft handle" (i.e. a smooth and fairly shiny surface).
