The JBL Live Beam 4 features True Adaptive Noise Cancelling 2.0 and high-res wireless audio driven by 10mm drivers. Its defining feature is a smart charging case with an integrated LED touchscreen, letting you manage calls and playback without a phone. Backed by Bluetooth 6.0, it offers up to 48 hours of total playback, plus a 10-minute quick charge that yields 4 hours of power. Perfect Calls 2.0 tech utilises 6 beamforming mics with AI voice isolation for crystal-clear calls, while an IP55 rating ensures heavy dust and water resistance.
The integrated LED touchscreen lets users manage calls, skip tracks, check battery levels, view incoming text notifications, and customise sound settings directly from the case. This completely removes 'phone distraction' at work or during workouts.

Excellent value earbuds
I’ve been using the JBL Live Beam 4 for a bit now and they’re excellent on for everyday use. Sound is rich and clear with that familiar JBL bass and calls come through crisp. The smart case with the touchscreen works really well – you’re able to change volume, noise cancelling and EQ without pulling out my phone is genuinely useful on the go. Battery easily gets me through a full day and up to 48 hours with the case, plus the IP55 rating makes them fine to use in the rain.

Breathtaking audio
5 star entirely for the excellent Sound Quality. I can hear things that I didn’t previously hear in my music and podcasts I listen to. I’ve listened to a lot of hi-fi systems and consider myself to be a bit of an audiophile, so I genuinely found these buds awesome. On ‘ambient aware’ there is a constant low level hiss which is absent when using ‘noise cancelling’. I think this is normal with ear buds because they cancel your body’s own noise. I rarely use ambient aware, much to my partner’s annoyance. I like the squat shape of the case. Solid quality feel and stable on a surface. Difficult instructions to get going. Not very intuitive. Little graphics and tiny font in the instruction book and on the case screen. I’m in my 60s so this was a bit frustrating. I can’t help being old. Good to see Battery status of the case and the ear buds on the case screen. Otherwise the case screen seems a bit silly. Good to get audio clicks when you tap on the buds to control them. My previous buds didn’t have that.

Great sounding buds
As always (in my experience anyway) these are great sounding headphones from JBL. Previously i’ve used their over ear headphones, and these seem sound the same. Obviously there are a number of different EQ options built in, that can be accessed through the app, or from the screen on the case. For the most part i find the one i like and rarely change from it. The noise cancelling and ambient pass through both work well. I haven’t really made much use of the screen on the case, couldn’t find a way to change what notifications are displayed, it only shows email… but that might be me missing the option. Battery life is good. I haven’t managed to fully drain them yet, though haven’t had the opportunity to give them a long test. The screen adds a bit of chunkiness to the case, but not excessively so, it’s still ok in the pocket of my skinny jeans. Most importantly, the screen gives you another place to show a picture of your cat ;)

JBL Live Beam 4
I have been using JBL Live Beam 4 earbuds for around 4 weeks. I love the sound quality and the noise cancelling is great for when I'm on the bus or in a crowded place. I can just drifted of to my own world whist listening to my audio book. The battery life is strong and lasts days for me. I use them daily on my commute and because the earbud case is charged, I just need to pop them in the case and it recharges the buds ready to use them again for my journey home, so I'm never caught out with them not being charged. The controls on the case are simple and straightforward to use, as is the app you can download on your phone.

Great sound quality
I really like these earbuds. The sound is really good and I like all the different functions, especially the touch controls. I also really like that I can completely block out the noise around me, but I can also switch it so I can hear what’s going on around me while still listening to music. The only thing I don’t really like is that sometimes when I change a song or turn the volume up or down, there’s a little delay and the two earbuds are not in sync for a few seconds. One starts playing slightly before the other. It doesn’t happen all the time, but it is a bit annoying when it does. Apart from that, I’m really happy with them and use them every day.

I have been using these for the last few weeks and rhey are brilliant. I have previously avoided these type of headphones as I was worried they would be uncomfortable but these were great and felt comfortable in my ear. The set up was easy and they easily paired with my iPhone. The battery life is great and they are easy to charge. The sound quality is excellent and the music sounds better than I expected. They are great to wear in the office when I need to concentrate as they have a noise cancelling feature. Would recommend to others.

Great sound and unreal battery life
Overall, these are great headphones that nail the essentials. They are exceptionally light and comfortable, making them easy to wear for hours without fatigue. Sound quality is pretty good across the board, with clean audio and solid bass. The standout feature is the battery life—it is a killer compared to AirPods and lasts remarkably long. My only critique is the screen on the case. It feels like a gimmick, as tapping the earbuds directly is much quicker than taking the case out to adjust settings. Aside from that novelty feature, the comfort, sound, and battery make them an easy recommendation.

Great Earbuds but unnecessary complicated case
I am a happy user of a basic model of JBL earbuds. I bought JBL Live Beam 4 earbuds as an upgrade. The JBL is top notch when it comes to quality and performance. The sound is astonishing with powerful but not overwhelming bass, well balanced mid range and crisp high tones. However I cannot notice an improvement in overall sound performance compared to the basic model so not much of an upgrade in that field. The big difference that is definitely noticeable is the weight of the earbuds. These are nearly half the weight of the basic model and a little bit smaller. It makes a big difference as most of the time I cannot feel them wearing them and they stay in place even while running. The Active Noise Cancelling works better, maybe not by much, but it is noticeable. What I do not like is the case. The touchscreen seems obsolete to me and the case is heavier and bigger compared to the basic model.

Great Build And Sound Quality
Having previously tried out a couple of different earphones and headphones from JBL, I was excited to try out the Live Beam 4. The Live Beam 4 are in-ear earphones, which I personally prefer instead of on-ear/around ear earphones as I find them comfier to wear and feel you get more sound isolation from them. The connection process was very easy due to the quick connect feature on Android and Windows. Once paired I found the sound quality to be a quite good for the price point. However, once I had downloaded the JBL app from the play store and was able to fine tune the sound profile to my liking and music taste much more. The JBL app had a surprisingly large number of features, including Ambient Sound Control, Personal-Fi, EQ settings, Low Volume Dynamic EQ and Spatial Sound. These are all customisable via the app and some of them can be controlled via the screen on the charging case. The charging case is quite compact and can easily fit in your pocket. It charges via a USB-C port on the back of the case in which a cable is included. It features a touch screen on the top of the of the charging case that can be used to control some of the features of the earphones, such as turning the sound cancellation on/off as well as music playback. The earbuds are very comfortable to wear, they have a small stem that comes off the earbud and comes down your ear when worn. Each earbud has touch sensitive controls on the side of them to allow for on the go control without needing to look at a screen. They have a decently long battery life which is massively extended when using the charging case frequently. Overall very happy with the sound and build quality.

They do the job and great battery life
I've used JBL headphones in the past and this one is another great offering from them. The battery life is great and the touch settings are responsive. I love the sound modes and find the ambient wire and talk through to be particularly useful, no to have to be fumbling for your phone when you just need to speak. I use them connected to my phone mainly for listening to music but also connected to my laptop where I use them a lot for teams calls the sound is crystal clear and nobody has any difficulty understanding me So the microphone would seem to be of a good standard. The only issue I could find and very easily solved is that the case would on occasion change track when it was in my pocket ,but I solved this by setting it to have to unlock by the slider. In crowded urban settings veing able to pause tracks or make any adjustments without having to pull out your phone is a great feature. The set of 3 earpieces in the box is great as the default ones that come with headphones often don't fit me.
