Can't take the heat!
Plastic case melted and the probe came loose on the first use, checking a steak in the pan. The body is needlessly oversized.

The temperature range is - 45 to 200C. So yes, you can use it for yogurt making, around 35C.

"The extra-long 180 mm probe is perfect for using to check temperatures when making jam, confectionary, BBQ, meat temperatures and more." As no reference is made to Yoghurt, we'd have to advise that it's not suitable.

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Heston Blumenthal Indoor/Outdoor Meat Thermometer: I can confirm this requires 1 x LR44 Battery. It would not be suitable for use with rechargeable batteries.
