Having checked with the supplier for you I can let you know they say - "the stain used on our stand is water-based and will not absorb oil.

Wood is a natural product it will react to change in temperature and the UV rays will eventually cause graying and fading.

The best way to care for the our wooden stand is to lightly sand and use a marine type finish. Marine finishes are super durable and are used on the hulls of boats as a protectant. There are many varieties, Minwax water based Helmsman Spar Urethane is a crystal clear, water based finish that is specially formulated to protect wood against nature’s toughest conditions. It contains UV blockers to reduce the sun’s graying and fading effects. Most clear finishes are available in gloss, semi-gloss and satin sheens. Choosing a sheen is a matter of personal preference."

Having checked with the supplier for you I can let you know this hammock is designed to fit one adult when laying down lengthwise - but 2 adults can sit in it as it is was a bench - ie sat in the middle facing outwards
