Great purchase
We needed a new water boiler urgently for Church when our last one packed in one Sunday morning! Knowing our nearest Argos was open on Sundays we arrived thinking we would have much choice. On arrival we found there were lots to choose from. We chose this one knowing the reputation of the manufacturer and liked the features, especially from a safety aspect and purchased in minutes. It is very easy to use, boils large amounts of water very quickly, and keeps it at the right temperature for over 2 hours. We love it.

Very easy to use
Very easy to use and perfect for gaining access to hot water fast, but you do nit get any Nector points at all, my reason for this comment are I have spent over £1500 with argos since December and not 1 point ,

Hi Sims.
Swan SWU10L Urn - Stainless Steel could be used for bathing water.
Enough cold water would need to be added for safety and transported into the bathing area using a suitable container.
Thanks for using Q & A.
Hello there,
The Swan SWU10L Urn - Stainless Steel is designed to heat water only.
Hope this helps.
Thank you for using Q & A.
Hi Tea girl,
The Swan SWU10L Urn - Stainless Steel requires an electric source in order for the 'stay hot' water function to be used correctly. There is no specific time on how long the water will remain hot in the urn without an electricity source as it would depend on the temperature of the room or if it is in doors or our doors.
Thank you for using Q&A.
REALLY???

Hello Davin,
The supplier has advised the following on the Swan SWU10L Urn - Stainless Steel:
“ Once water has boiled to temperature, it will switch itself off , as water cools or more water added the urn will switch back on to maintain temp 85-96C max ”
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hi Davin,
Yes, I can confirm this does have a standard plug.
Thanks for using Q&A
Hi Rob
Re: Swan SWU10L Urn - Stainless Steel 881/6399
We asked the supplier for you.
They say "Temperature control -
Once the water has reached temperature, the urn will switch itself off. As the water
cools or if more cold water is added, the urn will switch itself back on again. Typical
temperature range on auto models is 96C to 85C. Plenty hot enough for tea!
DO NOT leave the urn switched on overnight if it is not in use. It wastes energy
and the urn could boil dry, which can damage the element
The wattage of the urn is 1600 which multiplied by 13 hours is roughly £6 per day (depending on the tariff charged by the energy supplier) if running continuously, however, the urn turns off once it has reached temperature."
Thanks for using Q & A
Hello Sobia,
I can confirm you are only able to use water alone in this Urn.
I hope this helps
Thank you for using Q&A
Hi there
No sorry - only water can be used in this model urn
Thanks for using Q & A
Hi Ruth
Typical boiling time from cold for the 20 litre model is about 1 hour. This will be less
or more depending on the size of the urn and the ambient temperature in the room.
Noise wise, no louder than a kettle boiling
