About this product
Flat tyre on the way to work? This RAC inflator plugs into your 12V car socket or motorbike battery terminals to get you back on the road. It handles car and motorbike tyres, plus sports balls and small inflatables with included adaptors. The analogue gauge shows pressure in PSI and bar, and the screw connector keeps everything secure while inflating. Built-in light lets you fix a puncture in the dark. Compact design fits easily in the boot, and push-button operation keeps things simple when you're stuck roadside.
The long power cable reaches around most vehicles without stretching or repositioning. Screw-type valve connector stays put during inflation so you're not standing there holding it. Work light illuminates the valve area when you're dealing with a flat after sunset. Adaptor kit means it's useful for footballs and paddling pools once summer arrives. Runs from your car's socket or hooks straight to motorbike battery terminals depending what you're riding.

Wouldn’t recommend
First one purchased made a strange noice and started leaking oil. The replacement did the same. Takes ages to inflate by15 psi

RAC Tyre Inflator
Good tyre inflator, RAC approved, despite its size

Poor quality
Only used it once, when I'd finished with it I carefully removed plug from car cigarette lighter socket and the plug literally fell apart in my hand. For an RAC approved product that is pretty poor quality. I will not be recommending.

RAC car tyre pump
Bought this 2 weeks ago, really easy to use, does exactly what it's supposed to do. Really like that you can turn it off after doing one tyre and move to the next tyre without unplugging it from the car

Maybe good for a unicycle
The wire from battery to the tire doesn’t even reach my back tires and I don’t have a monster truck, a Kia Sportage, how are you supposed to inflate tires using this? It’s probably good for front tires but that wasn’t my problem

Hello Chas,
I can advise the following on the RAC Compact Tyre Inflator:
No, this is 12volt only or a motorbike battery. This can't be used with a 3 pin plug socket.
Thanks for using Q&A.
Yes, you certainly can I dont know why Argos said no. However, a better solution is to get an extension lead with crocodile clips on one end and a cigarette socket on the other, so you can use it in either circumstance. They are easy to make or are available ready-made from numerous places.
Hi Phil,
This is not suitable for this purpose.
Thanks for using Q&A.
