Good but flimsy remote
It certainly does what it says on the tin and only downside is a flimsy remote.

It should have been good
This was our second purchase of an Energenie 4 socket lead, the first being some years ago. Unfortunatly one of the relays stuck in less than a day. Argos would have swapped it out but no more stock was available in any local stores.

Great product
Bought this remote socket set to replace another which had given years of service. Very happy with it easy to set up and lives behind a TV unit with all appliances plugged into it. Little remote makes it so easy to turn individual appliances on/off.

Really works well
Bought this to replace the same model purchased previously. The last one lasted over 10 years of continuous use and still useable with just one outlet no longer switching. These units a so very reliable in my experience.

Bought as replacement as remote buttons playing up
As a replacement the item works well. Resetting the system reprograms the buttons on old item but not permanent. Hence replaced with new purchase

Hi Me,
No, The Energenie Radio Controlled Plug Extension x 4 Socket is not dual voltage and is not suitable to be used in America.
Thank you for using Q&A.
Hello there,
The supplier has advised the following for the Energenie Radio Controlled Plug Extension x 4 Socket:
"As long as the total load does not exceed 3kW over the 4 channels of the extension lead, then it is fine to use the heater".
We’d also have to add that you should check if the specific heater you plan to use with it is one that is suitable for use with an extension cord before considering the purchase and use of it with this product (not all brands and models are). The supplier also refers to the total load across all four sockets so it'd depend also on what other things you have plugged into it at the same time.
Thank you for using Q&A.
It is generally reccomended that you do not use an extention cable at all for larger items that draw much power, such as refigeratiors
Hello Katnip,
Our supplier has advised that -
The Radio Controlled extension lead can be used with any electrical device that has a standard UK 3 pin plug attached to it. There are 4 sockets in total. The combined load of all four sockets should not exceed 3,120 Watts. For example if your tumble drier is 2000 Watts and your fridge freezer is 400 Watts then this will be fine. The rating label on the back of the appliance will tell you the number of watts the appliance uses.
I hope this helps
Thanks for using Q&A
Hi Stef,
The Energenie Radio Controlled Plug Extension x 4 Socket may not react to the remote-control functions when situated in a weatherproof box.
It would depend on the material of the box and the distance the remote control is to the box when used.
Thank you for using Q&A.
Hi rich,
The lead is 1.8 metres.
Thanks for using Q&A,
Hi there,
Yes, you can operate with obstacles in the way. Dependent on the density of intervening material you can expect ranges of 10-15 metres and in open areas you can expect up to 30 metres of range.
I hope this helps.
