Great - saves on cutting keys!
This is in an airbnb house... its handy because we have so many sets of keys flying about... the cleaner has accidentally taken the key home with her before, and there always needs to be spares, but these types of padlocks save you a lot of trouble.

You can easily lock yourself out, be carefull
This device is easy to go into change code mode and you can mistakenly lock yourself with new combination which is hard to reset. Look on youtube other people had the same issue. I wont recommend it or if you bought it you should be very carefull to not lock yourself out

Exactly what we needed
Bought for daughter for her school locker, it fits and does the job. My daughter sets up the pin herself so it must be easy to do, she’s only 11.

padlock fail
I bought this for my daughter to use on her locker at school. We set it up with a code and she used it several times in the morning. By lunch time she it was not working and staff at the school had to cut it off.

Failed in under 48 hours
I purchased this online for store collection for my daughter’s locker at school, set the code and made sure she knew how it functioned. Day 2 of the academic year it jammed and the dials could not be moved by my daughter or school staff. It had to be cut off with bolt cutters and replaced with a different padlock. I contacted Argos customer service via online chat who were completely ineffective and did not value my custom in the slightest. Depsite me investing significant time their response was for me to spend more of my time with the instore team. I gave up and shall not be using Argos again in the future.

Hello Kaz,
The supplier has advised the following for the Master Lock All Purpose Combination Padlock:
There is no secret way to open the lock if the code is forgotten. You'd need to have that original code to be able to set/reset the combination.
If you have the old code but wish to change it then the directions from the instructions are below. To set your own combination:
1. With dials at old code, pull out the shackle.
2. Turn shackle 90° (1/4 turn) and press it down.
3. Continue pressing shackle and set the dials to your own combination.
4. Lift and turn shackle to the initial position.
5. To lock, turn dials to scramble combination.
Thank you for using Q&A.
