Clear image, two way audio and cheap!
We bought this to see how our rescue greyhound was when we went to bed and for separation anxiety training and its amazing! The night vision is really clear and it detects her whining as a baby cry. We've had no connection issues even when away from home and the image is really clear. For such a cheap provide we are really happy with it! We can also talk through it which is good for telling our dog to not jump up on the windowsill!

Tapo indoor camera
Purchased this camera last month, we also fitted it with an sd card so we can record and look back for free wothout signing up to the Tapo plan. It works great, night vision mode is also good. Would definitely recommend for peace of mind!

Not wireless
Not a great camera but for the price it's good enough. What was very disappointing is that it says in the specifications that it's wireless and is not.

Hi,
Tapo cameras support SD card recording in addition to subscriptions; whether or not to subscribe is entirely up to you and is not mandatory.
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hi,
Thank you for your support of our products! For monitoring students in a classroom, we recommend using a pan/tilt camera, such as the Tapo C200. It offers better coverage and features like motion tracking, making it more suitable for that environment. If you have any further questions, feel free to ask!
Hope this helps.
Hi Rottweiler,
Tapo cameras offer two recording storage options: cloud storage via Tapo Care and local storage with a microSD card.
Method 1: Cloud Storage via Tapo Care
If subscribed to Tapo Care, motion-triggered videos are uploaded to the cloud.
1. Subscribe to Tapo Care for your camera following this Guide: https://www.tapo.com/faq/135/...
2. Go to Tapo App > tap camera card > Tap gear icon in the top right corner > camera settings > detection page to enable your preferred detection type.
3. View recordings at camera Live View > Playback & Download > Playback page. Tap the Cloud icon and select the date to find your desired detection recordings. Alternatively, access them via the Tapo app > Cameras tab > Activity Center page.
More details, refer to this FAQ: https://www.tapo.com/faq/22/...
Method 2: Local Storage with MicroSD Card
1. Check if your microSD card is compatible with Tapo camera: https://www.tapo.com/faq/111/...
2. If using hub storage, verify if your camera support this feature: https://www.tapo.com/faq/686/...
3. Insert an SD card into the camera or hub: https://www.tapo.com/faq/113/...
4. Go to Tapo App > tap camera card > Tap gear icon in the top right corner > camera settings > Storage & Recording page to configure the related settings
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hi,
Thank you for your inquiry. If you are using an SD card for recording and not subscribed to Tapo Cloud, the recorded footage will only exist on your SD card and will not be stored or accessed by Tapo or anyone else. To access your recordings, you can go to the live view interface, enter the playback section, and click the SD card icon to view your recordings.
Thanks for using Q&A.

Hello Dave,
The supplier has advised the following for the Tapo C100 1080P Wi-Fi Indoor Security Camera:
Electricity Costs: The Tapo C100 is powered by an AC adapter and consumes a small amount of electricity continuously (typically around 2-5 watts). The actual cost depends on your local electricity rates.
Subscription Costs: There is no monthly charge for the camera if you have never subscribed to a Tapo Care service. The camera works fully without any mandatory subscription.
Tapo Care is an optional service that provides additional features like extended cloud storage. For more details on Tapo Care.
However, if you prefer local video storage, you may purchase an SD card separately.
