Crazy cat lady!

Hose detaching problem
The vacuum cleaner is OK, but I cannot detach the hose to store it because it is so stiff and my fingers are not strong enough. I'm an average strength woman. I have to ask a male neighbour to detach it. This is a serious design fault.

Build quality gone down
Vax works well but the build quality isn't as good as our old Vax cylinder hoover. When I press thrle button to remove the cylinder to empty it the catch on the door comes apart leaving the lid at the bottom open with all the dust. I have to wrangle it out without breaking the hinge then tip it upside down and clean up the mess. It's happened on each of the 3 times I gone to empty it.

The telescopic tube measures at 47cm retracted, and when fully extended measures at 75cm.

Not at all. I bought the vacuum specifically for pet hair and it doesnt pick up anything on carpet or rugs. The best I could get it to do was get some of the hair if I used the pet tool on my hands and knees, inch by inch. The pet tool clogs with hair quickly, the standing floor attachment picks up no hair.

The filters for the Vax Air Stretch Pet Corded Bagless Cylinder Vaccum Cleaner can be washed. The instruction manual advises the following:
Rinse the filter under water (40°C Max). Leave to dry for 24 hours before placing back in the machine.

Yep. Answered my own question. Found out from Vax that the power cable is only 6m in length. Henry has 10m to 12m depending on the model. Off to buy a 10m extension cable to make up the for the shortfall.
