A quick internet search shows that Panama uses a combination of type A (un-Earthed) and type B (Earthed) standard US sockets, of which only the latter will accept these adaptors (as they have an Earth pin).

As previously advised, these adaptors will fit Japanese sockets which _are_ Earthed (i.e. 2 pin plus Earth) but will not fit any _non-Earthed_ (2 pin only) Japanese or American sockets as the Earth pin on them will prevent this.

You would need to carry an extra adaptor without an Earth pin to be covered for both types.
