About this product
The Phoenix Ottoman Bed suits bedrooms with tight floor space but real storage needs. Its full-size base lifts from the end, revealing storage for bedding, pillows or seasonal clothes. Gas pistons make lifting smooth and safe. A sprung slatted base provides natural bounce and air circulation, with wooden slats offering firm, lasting support. The rubberwood headboard and frame add warmth and solidity. It fits a double mattress, offering room for two without dominating a small bedroom.
The storage area holds over eight hundred litres, enough to clear out bulky items and free up wardrobe or cupboard space. The slats adjust slightly to where pressure is applied, which helps spread weight evenly across the mattress. Rubberwood keeps the frame sturdy and durable through years of daily use. The stone grey finish works with most bedroom colour schemes. Self-assembly required with two people recommended, all fixings and headboard brackets included. Comes with a one year manufacturer's guarantee. Mattress not included.
Easily accessible ottoman storage enabling you to hide any unwanted clutter.

Birlea Phoenix Ottoman Kingsize Wooden Bed Frame
I bought it for myself. Me and my daughter assembled it. We took about three hours with every bit and piece and it was not difficult to do as we strictly follow instructions, which were also very clear. I love the navy colour which goes very well with the colour of my bedroom walls. Great storage but things need to be in bags or boxes. The frame for the mattress looks to be very supportive. I just didn't go for 5 stars because I haven't slept on it yet. I also ordered a new mattress, which hasn't been delivered yet. Hopefully very soon I'll be having a 5 star sleep :)

Quality control needs to be better
Received this last week, after unboxing all parts and starting to build we found both long side pieces were damaged on the corner, we were too far into building to stop and take apart and pack it back up and we needed to use the bed so we had to carry on and the damaged corner are covered with the duvet. Not easy to put together and some parts are different to instructions and different to video. After working it out ourselves we managed to put the bed together. Bed looks great but disappointed with quality. Wish I’d checked all pieces before starting the build, I would advise you do this if you purchase this bed.

Good practical and pretty bed.
Really comfortable and sturdy bed. A little tricky to put together and the ottoman mechanism is a little stiff but sure that will ease with time. Good amount of storage space.

Good bed - Recommended l
Bought this bed couple of weeks ago. Nice strong bed the only thing I would say is you got to be good with DIYs to get this fixed or at least you should know who can do this for you. I had two of my friends who helped me with this and it took us just over 3 hours to fix it.

Highly recommend
Bed is durable with excellent build quality compared to other similarly priced frames. It is sturdy and worth the effort, assembly can take time and required two people due to heavy parts. Took a bit of time and pressure to get pistons mechanism to work. All good though, highly recommend

Missing parts and weak frame
There was lots of missing hardware. Once I had the right stuff, I discovered that the pistons are very weak. They will not hold up my average weight mattress. So if you want to lift it up, you need someone else holding it whilst you’re putting stuff under the bed. Birlea customer support is atrocious, and the bed arrived over a week late

Nice bed
Nice looking bed and good storage but the size of the king size frame is much bigger than a king size mattress leaving a sizeable gap all the way around the bed. Particularly at the bottom - so big you can’t on the edge of the bed. Took around 4 hours to assemble.

Thank you for using Q and A.
Thanks for your response so just to be clear by outside do you mean the flat edge should face the wall ie the back of the bed and for the bottom the flat edge should be towards the bottom of the mattress or the other side? Thanks
Hi Lonewolf,
It sounds like you're having a bit of trouble with the assembly! For the Birlea Phoenix Ottoman Kingsize Wooden Bed Frame, the top bar pieces with the wood effect should be installed with the flat edge facing the outside. The arrow on the underside of the bar typically indicates the direction the piece should face, so aligning the arrow correctly should help ensure proper assembly.
Thank you for using Q&A
Hello Cameron,
The supplier has advised the following for the Birlea Phoenix Double Ottoman Wooden Bed Frame - Stone Grey:
No, you would need to assemble the headboard. It comes as a main panel, which is already built, but you’d need to fix the side posts, the top rail, and bottom rail to it.
Thank you for using Q&A.
The headboard is built but the bed comes in numerous tiny parts. In all honesty, the delivery and building of this bed was a nightmare
