The bed offers great storage and looks stylish, but assembly can be challenging due to poor instructions. Many users reported issues with build quality and customer service, but overall satisfaction with the product itself.

Good bed, Painful corners and even more painful...
instructions. My best advice for you is if you want to build this bed, do so without ever looking at the instructions provided. They led me down rabbit holes and dead ends until I finally braved the unknown and conquered the task despite it looking hopeless at times. It is worth mentioning once again too - that the corners of this bed are VERY painful to bang your shin on - but our space is limited so it might be why.

Very smart looking with spacious storage.
Bought six months ago and am happy with it. Takes time for two people to assemble. Product arrived damaged but the problem was rectified eventually after phone calls back and forth from Argos where purchased and where the bed came from. However in the end it was solved, and is essentially a great product.

As described but poor instructions
Overall happy with the purchase, the quality’s as expected and appears solid. Disappointed with the quality and accuracy of instructions and had to use the additional videos available for several steps. Took around 4 hours for 2 people to build due to the instructions issue and need to constantly double check we were using the right parts! Ottoman mechanism not as robust as our last bed but we only need for seasonal storage - wouldn’t recommend if you plan on accessing the storage area daily/weekly.

Fabulous bed
Great quality and easy to put together with two people. Easy to use when lifting up but at first it feels stuck up but it’s just the first couple of weeks times lifting the bed up. Make sure you are central at the end of the bed and push down firmly. You get used to it and it’s great.

Good communication and fine quality bed
Delivery and communication was seamless. Overall build quality was fine, but the bed creaks a bit. Slats and the plastic bits used to attach them seem to be of poor quality and cheap. Also a lots of bits and pieces to assemble.

Great colour and loads of storage
A lot of parts and pieces so not for the faint hearted flatpacker! But came together reasonably well. Was worried hydrology were stuck as so stiff to begin with but loosening off nicely with a few goes.

Really stylish!!
Lovely bed, really stylish with a sleek modern look. Lots of storage underneath. Only downfall was the assembly, it definitely needs 2 persons!

Hello Annie,
The supplier has advised the following for the Birlea Phoenix Kingsize End Lift Ottoman Bed - Pearl Grey:
"Constructed from solid rubberwood, the oak option has MDF veneered side rails whereas the white option features MDF Melamine side rails."
Thank you for using Q&A.
Thanks for your response so just to be clear by outside do you mean the flat edge should face the wall ie the back of the bed and for the bottom the flat edge should be towards the bottom of the mattress or the other side? Thanks
Hi Lonewolf,
It sounds like you're having a bit of trouble with the assembly! For the Birlea Phoenix Ottoman Kingsize Wooden Bed Frame, the top bar pieces with the wood effect should be installed with the flat edge facing the outside. The arrow on the underside of the bar typically indicates the direction the piece should face, so aligning the arrow correctly should help ensure proper assembly.
Thank you for using Q&A
