About this product
Our Brooklyn mid sleeper bed is made from solid pine, with chunky top rails and a sturdy frame. There's a fixed ladder for easy access which can be placed at either end of the bed so you can make sure it suits the layout of your room. Mid sleepers like this are perfect for smaller bedrooms so you can reclaim the space underneath for a chest of drawers, a little reading space, or maybe a den!
To complete the room, we've got a coordinating Brooklyn furniture range that includes drawers, a desk, a bedside table, and a choice of 2 wardrobes. The whole Brooklyn collection is available in grey or white.

Great bed, easy to assemble
Have had this bed for my 4 year old daughter for a couple of weeks now, and it's been brilliant. Assembly was very quick and easy, in no more than a couple of hours, done just on my own. The size of the bed is great, providing a good single bed without taking up excess space in my daughter's very small room. The height is also perfect - tall enough to give a nice amount of space underneath for books and for play, but not so high as to be difficult for her to climb into. She gets in and out without any trouble whatsoever, with the ladder having nice wide comfortable rungs. The height of the slats (i.e. the distance between the floor and the underside of the bed slats) is about 77.5cm - which is a perfect height to fit an Ikea Kallax unit (77cm high), though you would have to lift the bed to slide the Kallax unit under the frame. Other reviews have mentioned creaking. There is some, though I also rubbed some beeswax on the joints before assembling to reduce this. I wouldn't say it's an issue, and certainly doesn't creak when you're in bed, only slightly when climbing the ladder. Some very slight surface blemishes on the paint, but nothing that I'll lose any sleep over.

Nice little bed
Nice little bed. Easy to put together, needs two people at certain stage. Screw caps didn’t cover all screws annoyingly. Wanted this bed with an Ikea 4 kallax unit underneath. Was concerned when reading questions it wouldn’t fit. Can confirm it fits perfectly under the slats, just need lifting to slide under the frame. My little girl loves the bed, and getting it on sale made it even better.

Great bed
This bed is a great way to upgrade your child from a toddler bed to their first proper bed. It's good and sturdy And thanks to the space it gives underneath, It's ideal for small and cluttered kids rooms. The railings come up high enough to give good protection from falling and has the added bonus that you can pick which end of the bed you'd like the ladder to be. Highly recommend this bed.

Habitat brooklyn mid sleeper
It's an OK bed, easy enough to put together. It is pretty squeaky though. When I removed it from the box I wasn't happy with the paint finish, also I thought a couple of the parts looked warped. When I put it together I noticed some hairline cracks on the parts (both no.10) and one actually split during assembly. Used a bit of wood glue to sort it. I don't think it will last very long. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Nice bed, and my son loves it.
Bed is a great size for my 4 year old and as a result he now sleeps for much longer in it compared to his old junior bed. He loves the ability to play underneath in what he calls his little cubby hole and being a single bed he has plenty of space to move around and we can easily read him bedtime stories. You are limited to the type of mattress as it can’t be more than 16cm high, but the Simba Kids single mattress is a great fit. The bed does creak a lot when getting in and out, especially adults but it does still feel solid albeit the slats to flex quite a bit. I had issues putting it together as the pictures of the screws do not match what is supplied and I stupidly went out and bought new ones when they were there all along. So make sure you check and familiarise yourself with all the parts and screws before starting. Otherwise a great bed for the price point.

Hello there. I have taken a look at the instructions for building the Habitat Brooklyn Mid Sleeper Bed Frame. The parts and sizes are illustrated in this document. There are two legs and a panel that form the full width of the bed and this is broken down as follows.
leg width is 5.5cm wide x 2 = 11cm
panel width is 86.5cm wide
86.5 + 11 cm = 97.5cm wide approximately without the ladder.
Hope this helps.

Hello Hm92,
After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Habitat Brooklyn Mid Sleeper Bed Frame - Grey: ''It´s no problem to position a mattress under a mid sleeper on the floor. It´s just like sleeping under the upper bunk in a bunk bed. A bunk bed and a mid sleeper bed base are tested the same way. So, it´s just as safe sleeping under the bed base by a mid sleeper, as it is under a bed base in an upper bunk. This is tested to EN 747.''
Hope this helps.
Thank you for using Q & A.
