AEG washer dryer is quiet, efficient, and easy to use with multiple programs. It cleans well, dries clothes effectively, and suits families with large capacity. Some find instructions complex and drying cycles long, but overall highly recommended.

Does the Job well
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A lovely addition to my kitchen, very quiet and the programmes I have used so far have worked well including the drying cycle. The pipe as photographed was a challenge as it has an attachment at the tap end which in my case prevented me just connecting it to the previous one and needed significant work around with the under sink plumbing. Installation instructions were clear and easy to understand. This replaced a built in washer and fitted the gap perfectly. An annoying end ring which I guess I may be able to change but you certainly know when it is finished....

Excellent!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been absolutely loving this condensing washer/dryer. It has a huge amount of programmes and cycles to choose from where you can customise the temperature, spin and time length as well as for different types of clothing. Using the dryer option is completely optional and can either be set to come on straight after a wash or you can decide to dry your things the natural way. Once you get the hang of using it it is an absolute breeze and far outweighed my expectations. It also isn’t noisy which is perfect as I currently have a temporary kitchen and everything is open so I can still hear the tv. Would definitely recommend!

Mixed feelings on this washer/dryer
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It arrived promptly and well packaged. The installation was fairly straightforward. Once set up I sat down to read the instruction manual, which took some time as the instructions for operating the machine are way too complicated. I worked it out eventually with a bit of help from Google. I then put my first wash on. The wash cycle is much noisier which is a disappointment and the water drains out at some speed that I thought it was leaking everywhere due to the gushing sound it makes. However the clothes were washed well and in a decent time. Next I decided to put on a dry cycle. Once again the machine is much noisier than I am used to, another disappointment. The clothes dried nice and quickly and not too creased. However, they smelt strange. I can’t put my finger on what the smell is, possible a strange chemical smell but it isn’t very pleasant. Overall I have very mixed feelings on this appliance.

Excellent
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like this product very much. It comes with a series of options when it comes to the washing cycles and I love the fact that you have cycles for washing and and drying all in one. The size is a very good one and can fit a lot of clothes in to be washed and dry. It makes life so easier, as you can set the machine, do what you have to do and have ready to wear clothes. I would totally recommend this anyone who is considering it!

Brilliant freestanding 9kg washer dryer
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a brilliant freestanding washer dryer. It's stable with adjustable feet, not too noisy and bleeps to let you know when the cycle has finished. I really like that it has a nonstop 60 minute cycle for a 1kg load, washed and ready to wear in an hour. It also has a quick program that can wash a 3kg load in 20 minutes which comes in really handy, altogether it has 14 wash programs including cotton, delicates and anti-allergy. AutoSense works out the size of your load and adjusts the water and energy usage, so it cuts down on wastage and could save you money. It's easy to use, has a good size drum and you get a perfect wash every time!

Exceeded expectations
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall, this washing machine has more than met expectations. It's easy to install, and I did this by myself; the instructions were self-explanatory. The overall look of this freestanding machine is nice and clean. The settings are a good size to read, and the function button is easy to adjust. Temperature and spin speed are easily adjustable on the panel. The drawer has options for liquid as well as powder, which is a very good function. Drawer maintenance is easy. We have tried a few cycles; the instructions are a bit lacking, but after a few reads, I was able to work it out. They seem to be lengthy washes, and the clothes smell brilliant. The function to shorten the wash is to quick and super quick. The washer in itself is really quiet, and you forget that it's on. Its other bonus is that it doesn't have those offensive "I've finished" tunes and repeats. The drying element of it is simple and easy; it takes its time but does leave the towels lovely and fluffy. Cleaning the filter is simple. Overall, this is a lovely, quiet, efficient and reliable washer-dryer; it's sleek-looking and relatively simple to use once you have mastered its many cycles available.

Night and day difference
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I can honestly say I wish that I had purchased this product sooner. Ultra efficient washer/dryer that with my huge family of seven three increased capacity really makes a difference regards frequency of washing. Whilst basic cycles can be long these can be easily reduced manually and you do notice that the cycle length does change according to weight of load. Despite the high rpm very quiet whilst spinning and clothes as a result do come out relatively dry already. The display is very easy to decipher and single press buttons allow for variations to be made quickly. Overall great machine

Complete revolution
Given the size of my family the increased capacity makes a huge difference regards frequency of family washes. Easy custom cycle length with one button and you do notice the automatic adjustment in cycle length that the occurs due to the weight of the loads. Even at highest rpm it is very quiet and you wouldn't be aware of it being on when sat in next room. Very very impressed!

CONDENSER 9 KG WASHER DRYER - Freestanding
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall I would rate this as really good as a machine. I did find the instructions lacking and it took a few cycles of washing and drying to understand how to complete just a wash or indeed just a dry. The cycles are long and I think very dependant on weight. The instructions do advise smaller loads so even though there may be washing capacity, it won't be able to dry everything fully unless you carry on adding drying time. One plus is the door opens really wide so makes loading and unloading comfortable. There is one cycle that is meant to be wash and dry in 60 minutes so I need to practise keeping the load smaller. There is also a twenty minute wash which is effective for lightly soiled items. Now that I have got used to the machine however, I am impressed with how much quieter it is to my previous well know brand. I was concerned that it may not wash as efficiently but I have been very impressed with the outcome of washing and as long as I keep the loads smaller, the drying is efficient and also very quiet. Fitting was a slight squeeze but that was our kitchen design and it was up and running immediately. I have been able to free up a whole new cupboard space by adding this in place of my washer and separate dryer. I have used a condenser dryer before and used to find this very inefficient. This is contrast is effective and clothes have been dried well. As long as you maintain smaller loads I would absolutely recommend. The machine looks attractive and fits into my kitchen well.

Great machine
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Early 60s, semi-retired, busy life, very tired, and increasingly allergic to anything that beeps unnecessarily. So when our old washing machine and tumble dryer (separate) finally gave up (may they rest in peace, 2002–2025), we bravely entered the terrifying world of modern appliances. Enter the AEG washer dryer — the most reliable thing in the house. Washing Performance: Outstanding. This thing washes better than we ever did, even back when our knees and hips worked properly. We put in everything from trousers covered in all sorts of unusual stuff you get trekking with dogs through jobby littered fields, to mysterious kitchen rags with stains older than my vinyl record collection— all came out looking (and smelling) like they’d never lived through our lives. Drying Performance: It dries beautifully… eventually. Much like ourselves, it’s not in a rush, but it gets the job done. Start a cycle, go out for a walk, have a cup of tea, maybe read the paper, possibly forget what day it is — and voilà, it’s dry when we remember it. Noise Level: So quiet, we keep checking to see if it’s actually on. It’s become a bit of a game: “Is it spinning, or is that the fridge humming?” Either way, it no longer sounds like a fighter jet trying to take off in the hallway, which is a vast improvement over our last machines and our knees. Ease of Use: The buttons were intimidating at first — there are more programs on this thing than we had TV channels growing up — but once we found our favorite setting, we just stuck to it. Still unsure what a couple of the programmes do so we press them when we’re feeling posh. Special Features: It cleans, it dries, it keeps itself to itself, it’s quiet it doesn’t need too much attention and plays a polite little tune at the end. It’s so well-mannered, we’re thinking of leaving it something in the will. Final Thoughts: Honestly, this AEG washer dryer has been more consistent than our memory, more reliable than our backs, and more helpful than our adult children, who “can’t remember” how to do their own laundry when they visit. It’s not cheap, but at our age, if something brings peace, quiet, and clean towels — it’s worth every penny. We give it 4.9 stars, only because we’re saving that 5th star for when it starts folding laundry and handing us a biscuit.

Here’s the information for the AEG LWX60966B washer dryer:
Half Load
There is no dedicated “Half Load” button, but the machine automatically adjusts water and energy consumption based on the load size.
For smaller loads, you can also use the Time Save option to shorten the cycle.
Short Load
Use the 20 min – 3 kg programme for a quick wash of lightly soiled cotton or synthetic items.
This programme runs at 30°C and is ideal for garments worn once.
Dry Only Programme
Yes, you can run Dry Only cycles.
Select Eco 40-60 + Cupboard Dry level (Dry only mode) or choose Timed Drying for full control.
Drying time can be set in 5-minute increments, starting from 10 minutes upward.
Based on Electrolux's guidance for similar models, you should not use the delay start function when the liquid detergent flap is down. The reason is that when the flap is down, it allows liquid detergent to flow into the drum immediately. If you then use delay start, the detergent may sit in the drum for hours before the cycle begins, which can:
Reduce cleaning effectiveness.
Potentially damage fabrics.
Cause detergent residue or odours.
So yes — if you're using liquid detergent with the flap down, you should avoid using delay start.
However, if you want to use delay start and liquid detergent, you might consider using a detergent pod or capsule placed directly in the drum, or check if your model supports a liquid detergent insert or "boat" that retains the detergent until the cycle begins.
