About this product
This doormat keeps mud and dirt outside where it belongs. It's made from 100% coir with a rubber border that looks like wrought iron, so it scrapes muck off boots and trainers before they get anywhere near your hallway. The natural fibres work like a brush to get into the treads of shoes, which means less hoovering and fewer footprints trailing through the house. It's got a non-slip backing that keeps it anchored in place, even when people are wiping their feet properly.
The traditional black and natural design suits most doorways without clashing with what you've already got. At 75cm by 45cm, it covers a decent area without blocking the door or getting in the way. The coir is hardwearing and stands up to daily use, so it'll do its job through rain, snow and muddy school runs. Just give it a shake outside when it needs freshening up, and it's good to go again.

Yes it is possible to cut the following the steps listed below:
Remove the old coir mat out of the recess well and use the tape measure to work out the length and the width of the well or recess, plus the mat well depth. Make sure you measure up all sides of the mat well, as they aren’t always square. Note down the measurements on a notepad.
Turn your new piece of coir matting upside down.
Mark up the measurements on the back of the coir mat using the marker pen.
Carefully cut the PVC backing to the size of your mat well measurements using a Stanley or sharp knife.
Fit your brand new coir matting into the mat well and press down all the edges to fit it securely.

I have spoken to our supplier who have advised as follows.
Coir is a natural fibre derived from husk of coconut.
Coir doormats are best suited for entrance doors with covered patios or sheltered entrances.
It can be used outdoors provided it has a roof over it. It is not meant for direct contact with rain or snow.
If coir doormat gets wet, it should be dried under sunlight. Otherwise it will leave a wet stain mark on the doormat.
