Great router - shame about the service
I bought this from Argos and had it delivered. The router had already been removed from the packaging and when I went to set it up I had to factory default it as this too had already been done and so a password had been set. There was no easy way of getting through to a human being about this - and I needed it that day so put up with the fact it was a customer return. The router itself is pretty solid and works well - I think it's excellent value for money - just a shame about Argos - who are usually very good - just not in this instance. The AI chatbot was as useless as expected.

TP Link router. Very easy to set up
I had been having problems with my BRSK router and had no internet for 4 days, I saw that other people were also having problems and used this TP Link router to replace it. It works for 2.4 G and 5G so will operate all cameras, smart plugs etc. It also gets faster speeds when I do a speed test. I am very pleased with it and it was easy to set up.

Great Router at a fantastic price
Great piece of kit which I needed to upgrade my wi fi / ethernet connections at home. I've used TP Link before and it is a very reliable brand. It was also on a special.ogfer at half price. I needed it quickly and the only place I could get it, that day, was at Argos, Irvine. I drove down from.tie south side of Glasgow and picked it up without any problem. Staff were great there and very helpful.

The Archer BE230 is a standalone Wi-Fi router, not a Wi-Fi booster/range extender. It is designed to create and manage a home network and requires an internet connection from a modem, Ethernet connection, or another internet source connected to its WAN port. It does not support a SIM card directly.
The Archer BE230 is also mains powered and comes with a power adapter. It does not have a built-in battery.
If you plan to use it in a static caravan, you would need an internet source to connect to the router, such as:
A fixed broadband connection (via a modem)
A mobile 4G/5G router or modem with a data SIM
Another Ethernet-based internet service
Once connected to an internet source, the Archer BE230 can provide Wi-Fi for devices such as your Smart TV, PS4, and PS5.

Both the V1 and V2 versions of the Archer BE230 support EasyMesh (operating as an EasyMesh controller or EasyMesh satellite node, with Wi-Fi or Ethernet backhaul support) and a dedicated IoT network—a standalone Wi-Fi network designed for smart home and IoT devices, while still allowing control from the main network.
You'll need to consult your retailer regarding the specific version you purchase.

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the TP-Link BE230 BE3600 Dual-Band Wireless Wi-Fi 7 Router: Our routers generally do not support the tethering function you mentioned; their USB ports are primarily used for USB sharing.

BE230 will broadcast a 2.4GHz and 5GHz wifi network, as long as your Laptop supports to connect to 2.4/5GHz, it should be able to connect to BE230.
